We have a good news bad news sandwich on the menu today.
Good news, I was able to reschedule the flight and get out Florida on friday before the shiticane hit. They cancelled the flight(s) for today, so that would have sucked pretty bad. The hotel was brand new and built to new hurrican building codes, but its the aftermath that's the issue, power fuel, running water, food, etc.
Some people had flights rescheduled to other airports. Rental cars were scarce, but even if you could get one, there's no fuel.
Everything is electronics and key cards at the resort. They shut down all of the Universal and Disney parks in preparation for it. They aren't kidding on this one, it'll make a mess.
Fortunately, I picked up a new shoei while I was down there and a new right side crank case cover, but the timing cap from the old one is fused in the slot after the crash. The aluminum got so hot it is literally fused itself as a single chunk now. I went for broke trying to salvage it with the impact and snapped the screw bolt off. That's the bad news. The good news is I still have some JB weld left over and its just a tiny hole. I'll get a new one from KW honda and be back to normal over the winter. The bike should be fine for Tuesday.
New Grips, throttle tube, bars and she is almost back to top shape for tuesday. I called the office but no one picked up, so I'll give them a ring monday first thing.
