Kids these days think they're so cool ganging up on a kid...

You're getting your arse whooped anyway. How worse can it get?

See it all the time. Parents going with their supposed 'adult' child, to talk to a prof. Parents trying to obtain access to their child's student records. Parents just plain walking around campus with their child. It's what happens when you raise a "special snowflake", who then gets turned loose on the adult world.

Huh? This is some messed up logic.

How is this learning anything about the real world? One on One fight is one thing, this is completely cowardly by the 7. Yeh you are a real man if you need 6 others to help you beat up one person….must be an American thing.

Where is that video of that one guy getting beaten up by 6 and then the one guy picks up a pipe and smashes one of the gang members in the face with that pipe?

and chink doesnt sound as badass as N***** to them

Thus why i put my 10 year old in karate at 5 and soon will achieve Blackbelt In June if he passes the tests. I remember high school and you either had to be a great fighter or fast runner.

i was a skinny kid and short until 16 so i became the fastest runner I could be Ben Johnson had nothing on me!

i was always a scrawny kid, being fast and extremely agile was a great advantage in these situations...take the licks and the first escape route out...worked for me...

It was a comment on university. It wasn't a comment on getting your butt whupped.

I end up with parents of these snow flakes on my phone all the time. Sadly I can not tell them "put your kid on the phone and I'll explain exactly what your warranty covers and what I'm going to do for them. Many of them won't even call technical support, they have mommy or daddy do it from 1000km away in a different state, you can see how productive that is, some at least wait until they get home for Christmas/spring/summer break (and then find out they waited too long and their warranty expired). Last week I ended up with a call from a father and the "kid's" older brother trying to tag team me for 45 minutes trying to convince me that their snowflake deserved to have the company I work for ignore the warranty policies and give the kid a new product. The child is an adult in university.

Sad thing is these kids are going to be taking care of us in our old age.

And here's a tip for all parents raising a special snowflake. Just because your kid is special to you does not mean the company i work for will go outside the warranty to replace the product they need for school. same thing if you need your product to do your work, if you have something mission critical to your ability to do your daily tasks buy two or make arrangements to borrow one. When my car needed repairs a few weeks ago I found other ways to get to and from work. I've rented cars, borrowed cars, begged rides. I need a functioning computer for me to do my job at work. My employer keeps a few spare computers for such an occasion so I'm only not working for a few hours (the IT dept takes a little bit to get rolling) instead of a few days/weeks.

I was that kid in high school. I was tall scrawny and timid. Kids used to pick on me because it was easy. I was in karate, i was just too scared ******** to use it. However when my brother started up in high school; I had no quams about defending him to the bitter end.
I've taken my fair share of *** kicking. I miss the good old days when it was 1 on 1. Now it's a matter of who's got the bigger army. Pathetic in my opinon

Bullies always take advantage of that. Cuz you're too scared to get into trouble.

If I had a kid I'll pat him on the back if he punches out a bullies teeth

That, and there was the words of my father flashing in my ears of "If I ever found out you abused your training I'll beat you myself and ground you until your 20" So any time I considered using my training I always took a minute and thought "Would Dad get mad if I kicked this guys arse" he always told me I should be backed into a corner with no way out. Last resort and all that crap. Course then he went on to say "Son, come out swinging and don't stop until he hits the ground. Then run, because the fights over"

everyone is tough when they are in a group.
this happened one time to a friend and I one night many years ago

other than running away, just grab one, and punch them as hard as you can, as much as you can
once the others see all the blood, they freak out and take off.

if they dont, well, at least you got one of them.

of course, nowadays, everyone has a knife or gun, so i wouldnt be trying that now

My 10 year old who is about 4ft 6 and weights in the 75-80 pound range and in grade 5 was attacked by a grade 8 kid taller then me and im 5ft 10 kid put his hand around his neck and pushed him against the wall.

My son ended breaking his nose after repeating to let he go and that he knew karate and could hurt him. The kid laughed got his nose broke i got called into a school meeting with teacher and principal.

i sat in the meeting and said you the staff did nothing he warned the kid and the kid got what he deserved. The kid was bigger and got more then he bargained for and I told my kid he did right got out of a bad situation, warned the kid and protected himself when the school wouldn't and told my son good job and good for stopping when he knew the danger was gone.

Told him he did right and the teachers were wrong for not helping him.

Before anyone says he should not have broken nose to bad sometime you get more then you ask for when your a bully. Kid stays far away from my boy and alot of kids saw it and he has no more problems with bullies.

His karate instructor said he did exactly what he was taught to get out of a dangerous event and said when used only as a defensive act thatfalls well within their code.

Hey, when the kid's in danger and has to get physical, no reason to baby the attacker. Whatever happens to the attacker, he did it to himself. If he's able to get up, he's still a threat.

I dunno if fighting back in the situation is going to do any good, and could make things worse. Bottom line is that you're getting your *** beat to a pulp regardless with a 7 on 1. They're going to pound you till they get bored or think they did enough damage. If you're throwing a few stray punches you might **** one or two of them up but that will probably just piss them off more, signal them that maybe you did not "have enough" yet, and increase the severity of the beating you're getting.
