Jevco motorcycle rates going up ?!

Called them today to complain. Went from $1500 to $1900.. Even thought my driver rating went up... They said theres nothing they can do about it, so I told them ill be cancelling my policy with them. Just gotta find a better rate first..

It shouldnt be a shocker at all. Didnt i mention a few times on here that Intact is going up at least 20% on all motorcycle insurance stuff. On top of that, they will no longer insure stand alone motorcycle policies.
You have to have something else with them ie car/house etc.

All of is about to drop sometime in April or early May.

Source?? I called Intact, apparently rates are going up because they added a **** ton more regions, they mentioned no changes in regards to cancelling stand alone policies...why would people still be getting renewals especially if they're coming into effect soon?

My source. Not happening.

Intact can tell you what they want too. They just bought Jevco, and took motorcycle insurance has been taking a hit over the last few years due to higher insurance claims/fraud etc.
State Farm took a loss as well, and they want to reclaim their losses.

The stand along policy perhaps got shot down, but last i heard was being pushed through.

ok...I don't how it benefits you to keep this a secret nor how you expect people to believe you, but I'll just wait and see.

Im not keeping it a secret, its here posted. Could care less if you believe me or not ..

As for my sources, it wouldnt be beneficial at all to post them nor would you get any benefit from it.

I just did a bunch of online quotes, and I believe the main chance between Jevco and Intact is the magic age at which the insurance drastically drops. Jevco was 25, Intact is 30.

Add me to the list. Intact rate jumped about 20%. Told my broker I wouldn't be renewing and he didn't flinch, just sent me the cancellation form and said it's been happening a lot.

Went with "the personal" insurance company, nearly 10% cheaper than I was paying with Jevco, or 30% cheaper than the joke Intact is.

mine is up for renewal in August, guess I will wait and see what happens...

my only saving grace will be, my bike is old enough for Historic Plates ? it's 30 years young, so this might save my bacon......at least I can ride the whole summer.....

.

My insurance saga has been pretty funny so far. I mentioned earlier that I'm switching to RBC, well, that's still in progress a month later. First I found out there was a conviction on my record that didn't belong, so I had to wait around for the ministry to remove that (Amazingly, they actually did), then RBC wanted my wife's full records even though she doesn't have an M license of any kind. She immigrated from the US in 2009, so the MTO won't give a full record and they want a letter from her insurance company in the US confirming her claim record prior to 2009 before they'll give me the policy! This is getting freaking ridiculous. :tard:

Got my intact quote. Went from $1300 to $2100.... I'll be shopping this year as well.

From $600 to $850 on a Kawi 250. 34 years old, clean driving record.

Just did online quote at TD, think I will call them:

Quote for:
KAWASAKI 2012, EX250R NINJA

$446.00 per year*

ended up being $489/yr with TD, as they said I had an at fault accident (which it wasn't at fault, guess I need to speak to my ins company), still told them to do it, $489 is a ton better than $814. Wonder how many customers that Jevco had are switching :D

rate hikes for all
here here old chum

It is amazing just how screwed we are.
If I live alone and have 3 bikes, why do I have to have 3 separate policies considering I can only ride 1 bike at a time.
Ponder that one.

No. They sent me my renewal policy and they don't mention anywhere for me to bring my car with them, all I have to do is just pay them ($200 more than what I used to pay with Jevco just last year).
