Jevco motorcycle rates going up ?!

Well I got my renewal yesterday and it dropped from last years price but being a young rider, it would still be pricey in some eyes. I'm eagerly waiting for State Farm :(

was this with Intact? Can I get your last years premium, this year and age/location please?

Wtf is going on? With Intact my rates went up $400 up from $1200. Broker quotes me for other Insurance. Pembridge $2911. Avivia $4048. Over a barrel. Who do these Insurance companies think they are? Disgusting. Tantamount to rape/blackmail.

knowing the bike and your age would be helpful...
I hate when people post about insurance without these basics.

Not that this is going to help much as I have called numerous agencies. They all want to screw me.
+50 Ducati Diavel 2012.

Did intact change the age at which they the price drops? Basically my quotes are almost the same as when I was under 25. I am really ****ing steaming.

For those asking for premiums/age/location:

$1889 in 2012, 20 yo, Richmond Hill - CBR125, Jevco (2nd year w/ license)
$1650 in 2013, 21 yo, Richmond Hill - CBR125, Intact
$1450 in 2013, 21 yo, Richmond Hill - CBR125, SF

These premiums were given to me with an at-fault accident in a car and 1 minor ticket with me as the primary.

Finally found and insurer :D
So a little historic of my research, 24 y old, no claim, no ticket, living in belleville, M since 2011, vfr 800 2004.
With intact/jevco:
$1888 in 2012, 23 y old;
$2500 in 2013, 24 y old, or;
$1766 if I wait to be 25 y old at the end of may.

With Riderplus, $1733 if I wait to be 25.

With statefarm, 1100$ but then I pay $200 more for my car and $400 more for my girlfriend's car.

The personnal, $100 until I'm 25 y old and then $1150....I was already with them for my 2 properties and my 2 cars, I think its kind of good.

I hate shopping for insurance.

Just got my renewal paperwork from Intact. $779 up from $605 last year. For a 2001 Katana! What a joke... Called SF and they wanted $2000 for just the bike with them! Of course if I were to move everything else to them it gets cut in half, but still $1000! Time for the government to step in on these criminals.

Man the more I read this thread the more I dread when I see mine...

SF quote. "The bike premium with no tickets and accidents on your record as well as having your car insured with us is $726.14/year or $60.90/month." This is either a typo or I'm not reading it right but it seems to good to be true.

That is about right amount for my insurance with SF riding a cbr 600.....

I think SF quoted you incorrectly on that one . My kat 600 with them was just under $1000. With TD its like 960 (full coverage) or somthing try them

Fingers crossed, just got a Intact quote and was quoted 1104 for my 2011 Honda CB1000R. That is about a 500 dollar drop from last year...oh please come true when I renew...

Ah yea, I thought that was my car and my bike, but my car would be an additional 2k. My car on its own is $1400.

Last year: 20 years old, 2006 ZZR 600, 60km over speeding ticket $3330 with Jevco

This year: 21 years old, 2006 ZZR 600, no tickets, $2417 with Intact.

OR

I can pay an extra $1200 and go with Facility for an R1....:cool::cool:

WTF?? What's your location? How is the ****ing broker giving me a quote of 2300 clean record on a Ninja 250 at 23, riding since 19???

I'm expecting a "Insured as secondary under parents" response.

But why is it that you have a 60km/h over speeding ticket at 20 and its not there when you're 21? Did you get it when you were 16 on your first day driving or something?

That being said... "License has been suspended in the last 7 years?" Yes.

Nope. Own policy, not connected with my parents insurance in any way.

I think I'm getting a pretty solid discount (with intact) because I have had my M2 for over 4 years.

Living in Etobicoke, Toronto.

And yes it has been suspended when I got the ticket, got the 7 day administrative suspension. They were fully aware of that and it did not affect my rate at all.

Got the 60 km/over when I was 17.
