****ing SPCA CLOWNS

In my area they are aggressive. I had to reshingle a part of the garage roof (and no, no food in there, they were looking for shelter) as they started digging into it at various points. Their feces have to be cleaned up with bleach. There are too many of them out there and you are just making up excuses as to why nothing should be done about the health and property damage hazard that they pose. In a perfect world I could work 20 hours a week on keeping them at bay. As a proactive homeowner, my legal avenues are expensive and/or ineffective. The only thing that could resolve the issue is a massive cull program. If half the money put into repairing the property damage that they caused got put into that, we'd have a heck of a lot less of a raccoon problem in this city. On my property, I should be allowed to implement the 5c a pop solution without facing thousands in fines.

Like I stated earlier, kill what you want when you want. No excuses as there are none required, the situation is a direct result of urban planning and growth. If you feel you need 20 hours a week to deal with racoons then your situation is far worse then mine.

Wherever you build a city, pests will come. You don't see as many mice and rats in the wild as you do in the cities, for a reason. The only other alternative is to eliminate cities alltogether and sprawl out across the land.

There is something wrong with your friends cane corso, or your friend then.

They are not aggresive unless needed, and probably if a racoon comes on its Territory.

"Due to their protective instincts, the Cane Corso has a very discerning nature that can lend them to be wary of strangers but they should never be aggressive. Wary is defined as - marked by keen caution, cunning, and watchful prudence especially in detecting and escaping danger. Wariness does not include any form of aggression. An aggressive, unfriendly, unapproachable Corso is incorrect according to the breed standarde "

They are totally aggressive and you are deluded if you think otherwise.

I know multiple cane corsos that are well behaved dogs. I've never seen one that acts like you describe in this post.... I'd guess that behaviour has more to do with your friend than the breed...

The breed is aggressive. The owners don't help I agree.

I walked mine of the leash in parks!
The standard says they are not aggresive.
Who is delusional?

again , you but we agree to disagree. Same argument with pit bull owners, press canaria owners, dogo Argentino owners, Akita owners, etc etc etc I don't really care to convince you. I have 3 bullmastiffs as I mentioned so I have large breed experience for 20 years and have been around all kinds of dogs multiple times. Inherent breed characteristics can't be eliminated , breed standard means nothing as only a tiny percent are bred for breed standard

I had a dog when I was a kid -- a german shepherd/husky mix that I think was psychotic.
The dog would not attack other dogs, humans, or animals larger than itself (like cows, horses), but any other animal he would kill and rip the head off leaving two pieces; except rabbits... rabbits it would eat the whole thing.

I used to go on long hikes with that dog in the country side... I saw it kill cats, ground hogs, and one time a beaver, although he couldn't break through the beaver's skin he still managed to kill it by shaking it violently by the neck. He chased after an otter once, but couldn't catch it. I never saw him fight a raccoon, but the few months that I kept a baby raccoon as a pet he sure wanted to get in that cage.

Convince me, how could you convince me?........it would be like me saying the Bullmastiffs are aggresive cause I've been around them and your ownership experience and what the standard says doesnt matter. That would be ridiculous. Even though there are plenty of news stories about aggresive Bullmastiffs.

Good thing I got my Cane Corso from a Breeder that breeds to the standard......does your Breeder not?

There is a difference between aggressive and nasty defensive.Ever corner a possum in a shed or barn?

Not true. Raccoons are protected animals under Ontario law. You can't go around killing them. Thankfully!

Your taken my comment out of context..I disagree with harming any animal, but I cannot control others actions.

Actually if the are being a nuicence you can otherwise they have a hunting season in the fall. I've probably brought about a 1/2 dozen out of my attic to animal control to humanely deal with (aka 22 to the back of the head).

I'll just trap them and take them to your house since you love them so much
