Skinny ppl problems.
More fat= more cushion.:santa:= less bones broken.

Actually, Mythbusters just did a test similar to that.
Person, unbuckled in back seat of car. Car takes side impact from dump truck at 80 km/h.
First test, person is killed, but not catastrophically.

Second test, put unbuckled person between two "fatties" - dummies with approximate consistency of real people and 300+ pounds each.
Results in catastrophic injuries (basically had his bones turned to something vaguely resembling a shattered egg shell) and complete decapitation from the head being twisted about so violently.

So, fat doesn't equal safety... curses.. .'cause if it did I'd be motherf**king indestructible....

The non-catastrophic death. haha...

How did the two fatties do in the crash?

So here is where we are, discussing Fat density vs Non--Catastrophic death ratio.

We need may to come pronto!

I was going to say something about muscle mass and strength helping to protect bones too but didn't want to confuse things so early in the off season. haha... Just drink lots of milk this winter and we'll all be safe. :)

How much does OHIP pay or how much do we pay? I had to buy my $22 sling after I got mine plated.

I meant OHIP + extra insurance through work. If I understand correctly, $22 is all you had to pay? If so, that's comforting.

wait, what?

OK, how about I refine that - the "non-catastrophic death" could have been an open casket funeral. The Catastrophic death, well, when your head pops off -- I am sure you get the point.

The fatties were, well. Mush.

LOL Okay. A pretty death.

Just wanted to add some more kudos. Participated in a Racer5 program last June and SOAR and GBM put most of the tracks I have been to in North America to shame on a staffing level. I literally have zero bad to say about how the facilities or racing portion was run. Now if only I had a track closer to me I would be there every weekend possible.

I know where I will be taking my track funds in the future!

What about a 'Hands up who hasn't broke their collarbone' thread?

I did 2 ribs at the same time. Thought I was having a heart attack until one of my riding mates pointed out I don't have a heart.

I'm knocking on wood but I haven't broken a bone, ever, and have only been down twice on asphalt both due to mechanicals.

My collar bone break was more annoying than anything.

Two weeks after surgery I was almost back to normal but no heavy lifting.
