I did some breaking too.
Damn. I've got the exact same break. It just won't heal.... keeps breaking again a few times a year. Hope yours heals up!

You callin me fat?!
Jeebhus dude.....I'm thinkin you've got a vagina with that reply. Just so ya know, a 1978 Bronco with Cummins 6-speed conversion won't help with that condition.
I was joking!
Didn't you know, we are running CSBK at SOAR this year
I know your pain.. literally! I have broken some 22 bones, but a displaced collarbone fracture is the single most painful thing I have ever felt. Anyway, at the time I broke mine('04) I was racing CMRC provincials, and was desperate to get back racing, so I did my research.
The reason clavicles don't heal well these days is hospitals stopped using X-braces. X-braces...or whatever the clinical name is, are nothing more than a padded strap that keeps your shoulders pulled back. They allow the bleeding bone pieces to align with each other during the critical day 7 through day 21. Now they just give you a sling and send you on your way. If the two segments don't meet during that early period, you're usually SOL. I had the X-brace so mine healed okay, but it took forever. My buddy had the same break, but no x-brace. He broke his two more times, eventually needed surgery.
If it won't heal, bite the bullet, and get it plated. I'm told the surgery hurts like a *****, but once done, you're good as new. The trick is finding the right Ortho surgeon, who's willing to open you up, just because you want to make the next SOAR round!!
Knock on wood me or nobody else needs this, but just curious---how much does a surgery like that cost (ballpark)? Also, if I have insurance through work, which includes accidents, etc., do they reject such claims on the basis that it happened while riding on a race track (e.g. trackdays, also racing if there is difference)? Thanks.
