In 2014, Grand Bend will now have 6 track layouts!

Given SOAR's recent 2014 Schedule release, Grand Bend Motorplex now has 6 different layouts for motorcycle racing or trackdays!

Until 2014, there have only been 5 layouts used at GBM. They are the Long Track, Modified, Technical, Screaming Alien and Backwards Screaming Alien. We can now add Reverse Technical to that list. I can't wait to ride the NEW track!

Here are all of GBM's layouts...

Reverse technical!! Jeebuz! That will be a heavy heavy braking zone into turn 3.

No kidding! Looks good though! It'll be awesome accelerating through 3, 4, 5 and then again braking hard into 6. Can't wait to try it!

Yes I have an idea on doing this safely if I am proven wrong I will change that round. I think it would be an amazing layout if it works and people are really wanting more reverse so hopefully (fingers crossed) :D

Thanks Drew - Interesting

right on, reverse carousel and the full back straight

I love that reverse carousel.

If I ever drag elbow, it will be on that! :D lol

that track is very versatile. I have only done the long track.

Which layout is the most difficult? which is the most fun?

I'm thinking of doing a weekend or 2 next year.

Both answers are subjective

for me, it is the screaming alien

again, love that carousel to straightaway

You mean reverse screaming alien? I prefer forward screaming alien. I prefer the carousel forwards. Forward screaming alien is my favourite layout, long track second.

Thanks Dave. I did mean reverse.

I can't get my breaking right before the carousel in the forward confiugration, and i'm better turning left than right. Like a reverse zoolander :p

I used to be better at lefts, then I did probably 500 laps at SMP Nelson one summer. LOL

More braking and less breaking will make it more fun Nick ;).

I'm curious to see how much run off there is for the back straight (google maps suggests about 200' at the most) and how it'll play doing Reverse Technical.

Like I said if I cant do it safely it wont be done there is more than 200ft for certain the issue will be placement of immovable objects like the timing slip shack that has me concerned. I we cant do it then we cant I would just like to see the rest of the corners in reverse that is the only spot of concern and it will be addressed.

I'd like to know the distance from turn-in to the drag strip wall. I took a closer look on Google Maps and now I'm thinking it's roughly 300'.
