Scientific evidence from where? Do you have children?
I do, three adults now. Not one of them "hates" based on race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. We taught our kids to believe that, for the most part, people are generally pretty good. We also taught them how to think objectively and critically and listen to their instincts because there are people that are not so good. Identifying the difference takes some time to master.
While it’s true that children are taught to hate, they also must be taught not to hate.
it is my experience that hate can creep into a child’s ideology based on things the see, experience and learn from their peers. Kids may know the behaviour is forbidden at home (kinda like smoking, drinking), but tolerated or promoted by peers. Like drinking and smoking, they met be very god at hiding things from parents and authority figures.
whenever I overheard or saw discriminatory things, I made a point of exploring them, often that day at dinner with everyone around.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference but was the family wearing their traditional wardrobe, a sign to a twisted mind that they were not conforming to the perpetrators ideology.
I don't suggest that a person has to hide their nationality but rather question what factors that trigger a response.
A court hearing is scheduled today for the man accused of deliberately striking and killing four members of a Muslim family with his truck in London, Ont.
