I'm sick in my heart

Sad to think people harbor that much anger and hate.

Very Disturbing & Sad. What a shameful waste.
After reading the entire article I feel I'm left with more questions than answers...

Why are we as a species so bad to each other ? We have more important things to do...

You are correct. We are just incapable of living and letting live. We are so worked up about who's version or a political lie is true, what god someone chooses to worship, what gender someone loves or chooses to identify as and mostly, we cannot allow ourselves to see past race.

This tragedy is the culmination of all that hatred. it's so very sad that this family had to pay for the imbalances.

You have to remember that we’re the evolution of a pretty savage species. We aren’t the top of the food chain on this planet for no reason.

We’re talking about millenia of conflict over land, religion and just because. That stuff doesn’t wash away, the grudge has become a part of the culture.

I cannot even begin to fathom what type of hatred can bring someone to do this...I'm all for the death penalty in this type of case.
Cant imagine what that poor boy is going through. Nathaniel Veltman... is this an Israel/Palestine thing spilling over? There is nearly a hundred years of hatred and bad blood there.

Also how do they call this a hate crime within an hr of it happening while the guy in the uhal with the isis flag was NOT declared a hate crime/terrorist attack...

Evoex is right, there is about a million years of us being brutal to anyone not in our own tribe. However, as a species we have regulated it into an organized affair. Single lone attacks like this one speak more to the derangement of the attacker then our evolutionary need to be on top.

Being drawn and quartered should be a legal punishment for savages such as this guy.

Current punishment rehabilitation seems to be a failed experiment for these monsters.

That’s what surprised me that it became a hate crime. Is it simply because of the religion of the victims? Maybe there’s more to the story.

Hopefully we will at least find the cause for it, and it can be used to prevent the same happening again.

It's the result of our biological evolution as well. I watched a podcast where Bret Weinstein and Jordan Peterson (along with a clueless Joe Rogan that was in over his head) explained it very well.

Animals (including us), in general, avoid anything that is drastically different from them due to diseases. We're evolutionarily wired to feel disgust at those who are different. Prior to globalization, which happened in the last hundred+ years, and we should remember evolution has had a far longer time to develop (billions of years), animals were naturally segregated. This also meant viral parasites and bacteria were separated. COVID, for example, is a virus that wouldn't have left China if we were a primitive species. There are apparently (I can't cite any) historical references to early North American settlers shaking hands with Tribe XYZ and proceed to accidently wipe out Tribe XYZ or the inverse happening.

Also, fun fact, disgust is the root cause to "cleaning." How many world leaders have wanted to "clean" a race out before? Not surprising individuals would feel the same way.

Long story short: we're all biologically wired to be racist as **** for our own safety.

Very little information at this point (unless I am missing something) on the perpetrator of this crime. It would appear to be mostly speculation.
Was it a calculated hate crime or a terrible accident being labeled as one? Once again from my reading of the article this person seems to have friends of different faiths and ethnic backgrounds, so was there a change in beliefs and what led to it? No one is born to hate, it is a learned behavior.

Please don't misunderstand my post, I am trying to be articulate and allow this conversation to continue in a civil manner. I by no means endorse or excuse any of the actions of the accused. No matter what the verdict or outcome this was a terrible event that will not soon be forgotten.

He probably told the police why he did it.

Perhaps, But then why was that fact not disclosed. Once again I am referring the the article linked from the OP, so perhaps I am now missing information.
