If You Could Turn Back Time

Reflecting on the past can be a powerful motivator to your decisions in the present and future. I try to avoid regretting things I could have done or didn’t do.

Spending too much time pondering the what ifs of the past only robs us of the time we can spend doing now or near future.

What an awesome time.
Selective memory.
The late '60s was a **** storm... and the dope was crap... all sticks and seeds... the acid was pretty good and 'ludes were a buck each.
I was "coming of age" in the late '60s and I believed. My theme song was CSNY Chicago and I, and a LOT of others thought we COULD "Change the world". We were wrong. The "we" of 1971 is the right age to be "in charge" today... WHAT HAPPENED?

Funny thing: any day you say "this is the best day ever"... you're probably right. Looking back, today is better than any day that came before. It IS getting better (believe it or not) if you concentrate on the good, not the bad.

Should enjoy now because in 20 years we will look back and say 2025 was amazing I wish I could go back in time.

Also, Gen Alpha (those born between 2010-2024) will blame Millennials for ruining the economy and the Earth, and making life generally unbearable for them.

That should be interesting and funny to witness.

"Ok, Millennial "

Oh we're doing "go back to change all the dumb sh!t you did in the past?!?!"

I thought it was just reliving memories?

ofuk, where do I even begin? Does this magic time travel device have enough juice for all those trips?

When did Apple stock IPO again...?
In 2008 I bought a bunch of aapl. I was considering dumping in entire LOC as by all metrics, it was a sure thing but I didn't have the stones. I could be following your path now if I had. Instead I'm working for another decade at least. I didn't sell any until this year. I was grossly overweight in aapl and didn't like that buffet so a bunch so I substantially reduced my position.

Agreed 16 would be cool. Even better would be being 16 and knowing what I know now.
Yup. I could drive (legally), Moon landing, Woodstock, mini skirts, gogo boots, muscle Cars. Ya some nasty stuff was happening, but there was a lot of good stuff too.

Like, the winning 6/49 numbers for the draw on your 17’th birthday?

As a minimum, one of the two. Most 17 year Olds have neither.

Meh, some of us had sensibilities. I’d have done ok, I was raised financially savvy and had enough brain cells to rub together to know that a windfall doesn’t last forever if you piss it away, but investment income lasts.

Wouldn’t have sold my 6 plex…that’s what I would’ve changed. Sure we wouldn’t be able to afford this place, but damn I’d be living the baller life with the rest of the GTAM ballers!

In nineteen seventy six I fell off my bicycle and scrapped my knee . We didn’t have the internet then , so I’m telling you now .

I can top that, around the same time I twisted a testical. I won’t go into all gory details about how one would go about untwisting a testical but I sure wish I could go back and change that day.
