If you could load your bike on a plane and had 6 weeks off, where would you go?

One of my goals is to follow Shane on a US trip, dude is a weapon with mileage
Ok come with me the next time I go to Deals Gap and save 8 days for that trip - 3 days to ride down, 2 days riding around there and then 3 days home. They are long days, but absolutely incredible riding every single day.

Iceland has always appealed.

Or six weeks on the Trans Euro Trail through Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Include a stop at Nordkapp.

Definitely for next summer (2026).
I think unlikely for 2025, only because I'm already doing a longer ride in the summer and the rest of my vacation and money (asides from going to Costa Rica this week) will be spent with my wife travelling.

I going through Smoky Mountain withdrawal, so it has to happen in 2026.

Fly to the west coast of Europe, and make my way through mountainous regions toward Poland.

The Smokies are a great destination. Don't want anything to do with 129 tho. Too many yahoo's trying to better thier "lap" times. There are lots of great roads there. B couldn't handle the distance on the ural,so I'm thinking about buying a Stinger sidecar trailer.

Was just there in October. Got there shortly after Hurricane Helene went through the area. Very little traffic, as a result. A bit wet but it was great!

Oh, I did get hit by an 18-wheeler though. It was trying to route around road closures and got routed through 129 by their GPS - a common occurrence.

So not *that* great, in retrospect...

Check out the Back of the Dragon. A tiny fraction of the level of traffic of the gap, but way longer and IMHO, more fun.

Yes,it's good.I have spent some time in the Nantahala forest.Tons of really great roads and gravel that the Ural would be fun on.

Wow! Glad you are okay.

Riding in Iceland is on my bucket list. Of course the country is small so I won't take long. Outside of that I would like to ride all over Europe.

I would also like to visit the really northern part of Canada, the territories. More so to see how people live up there and taking the bike there would be that much of a cooler experience.

Have you done the James bay road? It’s a good dip your toes in the water experience of that sort of thing.

Reality is you can’t get very far into some of the territories by road however. I’d love to do the Yukon some day however.

I have not done the JBR but would love to.

Need to convince my riding buddies. They usually prefer clean asphalt for rides. 🥴

It’s asphalt 99% of the way. Some construction. The stretch from Chisasibi to James Bay itself is sand/gravel, but if myself on my Imperial Cruiser, a buddy on a Goldwing (with a trailer), and another buddy on an ST1100 can make it, I’m pretty sure anything could make it.

I suspect I will go again at some point, I want to spend some time in Chisasibi.

I had a friend from Poland back in the day. I honestly didn't know much about the country or how it looked. When she shared some photos from a vacation, it was quite impressive. And castles!

It’s gorgeous. Especially the southern mountainous region.

We’re hoping to go this year but sightseeing will be to a minimum simple due to time.

I’ve barely seen 20% of it.
