I don't think this a true story but a move to rile the public to guage opinion. I have been stuck in mud before, to get out slip your foot out of the boot and leave the boot. Chances are, once your weight is not pushing down on the boot you will be able to pull the boot free in anycase. As the guy could see his truck he wasn't that far from shore and could have made it to the truck in soggy socks.

If I am right, call the opp if you require rescue. Who patrols the waters in the summer months, the opp. The delusional fire departments are grasping into areas that are not their concern.

It's an emergency because his life is at risk, regardless of how or why it was put at risk.

Guess what, fire is hot, and no one needs a warning for that; but what you are suggesting is that anyone caught in a house fire shouldn't be eligible for rescue because they decided to use their stove to cook dinner.

Don't even get me started on the self-righteousness of that attitude; who's forgotten that we're all here because we ride? Certainly a HUGE risk we all knowingly put ourselves in, and fully expect the support of emergency services when we eat pavement.

I am shaking my head for wasting my time replying to you because you're absolutely clueless, but what do you think the fire departments areas of concern are. In you're own words please explain what our job is?

I wish I could say that I can't believe anyone is so dense, but there he his. All that stupid is coming from a guy who called HR because a coworker hit him on the road. He can't seem to wrap his head around the whole "Emergency Services" thing, or the "Fire AND Rescue" concept. His idiocy has been thoroughly entertaining in this thread, as well as others of course.

There is no talking to you as you are here to promote your propoganda to achieve an agenda. Waterways are the responsibilty of Transport Canada not muncipalities. The opp patrols the waterways in the summer, not firefighters. Your job is to fight fires and whatever else it is you do for the benefit of your community. As property taxes from the areas residents is what is used to fund your actions I am shocked those who are paying property taxes are not complaining to their MLA and MP for this waste of their tax dollars.

hmm,, how do you know Transport Canada hasn't contracted the work to the OPP in the summer, and the Fire Dept in the winter.. and some sort of co-op as well... like both respond.. locally I live on a hwy in the Waterloo region.. and it is clear who has jurisdiction to those that know.. but there are plenty of those in charge that do NOT know.. as I have been told to talk to Greater City of Hamilton... and to OPP ... when in fact.. waterloo regional services is who take care of MOST things... The township fire dept is volunteer,, and they have a contract with CFD to respond first, and they will follow up with further resources if needed.. so, it can be as clear as Tim Hortons double double Crystal ball these days! no matter what you been told.. hope that clears it up
