All you do is play stupid and troll. I suspect deliberately. Haven't we seen you on here under a different username?

Nice hat Lol. But seriously, is there only one way to skin a cat? Are we colouring inside the lines only? I'm engaging in a way I find effective. It helps me suss out the information I need.

Simple, he was a law abiding citizen that knew full well that he needed to call the cops but I guess after he saw fire bombs come flying at him he realized the cops weren't going to help him. It's either wait on the cops and burn alive or try to defuse the situation, as he did.

I'm assuming he called before the action started.

Just imagine if he didn't call the cops, HA

He did want and need emergency assistance. The only problem was it came too late. If I remember correctly it was something like 10-15 mins before they arrived. If he had just curled up in the fetal position and waited he would no longer have a home and he may not have survived.

If he believed he couldn't count on the cops, he wouldn't have even tried to call until after he chased them away. Therefore, it is false to conclude that "law-abiding voting citizen realizes that he can't count on the cops to get him out of trouble".

Thats gotta be the dumbest thing he did. He shoud've just keep quite & repair his house.

Remeber when u call the cops u better be a complete law abiding citizen or else your entrapping yourself

Good point

LOL why did he call 911? Cuz his house was on fire? Forget about the confrontation with the arsonists, He needed emergency services for the possibility of his house burning down.

Maybe, but I'm thinking he doesn't say "my house is being firebombed on the 911 tape". He probably called for the cops. Anybody know?

I never did manage to find a recording or transcript of the 911 call, but here's the video from his security cameras.

It will likely eventually turn up on CanLII.

Fire bombing using the saunter method. Did not expect to see that.

If they saw him come out and armed, they likely took off... If he shot them he would have been in actual serious trouble had he done that once they weren't a threat. Firing a couple warning shots, however, lets them know he means business.

And you don't shoot to disable... Hitting an arm or a leg on a moving subject would be pretty difficult, so to score a hit means going center of mass... And that means a very likely fatal shot.

You shoot to disable the threat. I never said anything about shooting arms or legs..

You don't think those guys deserved to get shot?

Personally I think he would've been entirely justified in shooting them. That's not to say I disagree with what he did... but I think he put himself at further risk by attempting to scare them off instead of shooting to disable them. Just my opinion.

Sorry, what I thought you meant by disable was to wound in a manner that was less likely to be fatal, which would mean not aiming at vital organs... Which pretty much leaves you with the arms and legs. If I were in position to need to shoot someone, it's always center of mass.

P.S. Your nitpicking on the BMW logo has nothing to do with the point made by the statement and is bordering on trolling - you are being antagonistic for the sake of being antagonistic - not contributing to the discussion.

I finally figured out why you made this comment. Completely went over my head. I didn't mean to say the BMW roundel wasn't a propellor, I meant to say the BMW roundel doesn't represent a propeller. I was actually trying to be helpful.

As for the ????? comment, I think it was appropriate and in accordance with my understanding of your position on what we were discussing.

Is there some weird history of trolling on this site or something? Everybody's so trigger happy around here. I just want to maximize the experience. Only a few days ago I got an e-mail personally welcoming me to GTAM. I'm starting to wonder how sincere that was?

I don't think anybody here knows what a troll is, TBH.

it's not this?

Good read thanks.

I can't believe all the carrying on about proximity of ammunition to the firearms when in fact it's legal to store the ammunition in the same freakin' vault as the firearms.

The regulations are so messed up, it's easy to lay a gun storage charge. And the cops might even believe they have a case.

We were talking about gun and ammo storage at work the other day, and it's easy to see that the way it's worded leaves room for interpretation.
I just don't take the risk, guns locked up in a safe, ammo locked in its own ammo box outside of the safe, and my trigger/cable lock keys are also locked in the ammo case. Therefore I need to open the locked ammo box and the safe to get out my guns and take off the trigger lock... It's like a 3 step process and should show more than due diligence. I don't want the risk of that type of charge.

I know I could just lock my guns in the safe with ammo in there as well and be legal, I just don't want to give some know it all cop the chance to charge me if for some reason they ever had to enter my residence.

^ So long as firearms are stored in a safe, the trigger locks are an option, right?

Non restricted, yes. For restricted they must also have a mechanism lock (trigger lock or a cable lock) and be locked up.
You can store non restricted "on display" as long as they have a mechanism lock. For restricted it's the same, only they also have to be locked to something that cannot be moved.

I just over do it... And even still, I'm capable of getting a gun unlocked and loaded in under a minute, no matter where I start in the house. I'm one of those people that has a place for everything so I'm pretty well organized when it comes to that. Doesn't hurt that my Maxus has a pretty cool loading feature that sucks the first round in the magazine in to the chamber automatically.
