I Hate Digital Speedometers, They Are Retarded

peg - I've said it before, and as long as you keep posting, I'm sure I'll say it again: Considering the quality of your posts - you throw the word 'retard' around a lot.

cant say that i agree with a lot of the OP's posts or thread, but this is one where i'll jump to his side of the fence... but for different reasons.

i dont particularly care must for the aesthetics of one or the other... but a regular dial speedo is just easier to read out of the corner of your eye... you can see where the needle is, and know approx what your speed is.... with digital numbers flashing around, out of the corner of your eye it means nothing, you actually have to look down and focus, and i dont want to have to be focusing on my guages, i would rather read them from my periphery, but that's just me.

Yeah, I can't stand all this digital this and electronics that. I traded my bike back for a good old fashioned carb bike.
I am loving it, I got rid of the steel belted tires and switched to bias ply with a tube. You guys have no idea what fun you are missing.

While there is a part of me respects your appreciation for older proven efficient tech like carbs, since no one else has mentioned it, you should be made aware that tubeless tires are WAY safer than tube-type. It's not even a close comparo. It's one of those newer techs that really is an honest no looking back.
I've had a rapid airloss on a rear tubeless at 180+ just prior to setting up for a potential 220+ corner, and had I been running a tube, I think I'd still be hurting pretty bad. Maybe dead. Just an FYI..

Well, to each their own - I just think it is not cool to bash man's ride (regardless who is the man). If you don't have anything nice to say - why say anything at all? I am sure Peggie loves his bike and it is his baby.
And we are not talking about beige toyota corolla here after all - it is pretty nice bike.

Glad you said it.

Lots of good proven tech migrated from that generation of build into newer Kawi's.

Um,this guys a ZR7 owner calling R1's and R6's girly? lol

Then says a digital speedo with a blue light is good though. Try actually looking at the speedo of an R1...its blue, can be adjusted for brightness, and is easy to read under any light condition unless you legally blind.

Clock is likely buried under the lap time mode..

I wish, all the owners complain about the same thing. No clock and no outside temperature. These are two item that we came to expect on digital dashes; I guess MV missed that "memo".

I included the definition below so you don't have to write technical responses to joke posts. :)

sounds like someone is trying to find bs excuses to why they bought a turd of a bike.

What the hell are you talking about man? I just bought a $37,000 Infinity car and buying a brand new ZX-14 bike is no problem for me, the reason why I bought this bike was because I liked it, period, just like I would buy a 1970's Mustang if I saw one. I can buy whatever bike you have or dream about so don't come to me with illusions of grandeur.

The bike is only worth only a couple thousand but I have to save for 1 year to get that money so it might as well be $30,000 dollars in the grand scheme of things.

busted

Busted? Just because I can buy a $30k+ car doesn't mean I'm going to buy a $400 shirt or a $160 plate of food, what I'm going to spend my money on depends on what importance it has in my life, I don't want a brand new sports bike because of the insurance, I'm not retarded to pay $3,000 a year for 8 weekends of riding.

So after 5 pages all that was establish is that you do not like digital dashes and even if the r6 had an analog dash you will not purchase due to your high insurance quote.

Some points to remember digital dash also allows for programming or changing of fuel maps and traction control which my digital dash does for my bike along with option changing from km o miles when I take my bike to California to ride and finally a lap timer included.

These are some to reasons why a digital dash make sense.

P.S I also purchased a 30k infinity but I also purchased a bike with digital dash and my insurance is not 3k :-)

Elmer J Fudd. Millionaire. You own a mansion and a yacht.

I can ignore a speedometer that is digital or analog with equal ease.

who only rides 8 weeks per sesson, are we in Alaska?

Sorry but I do not ride if the weather is not at least 25C and sunny, I don't enjoy riding with a sweater and gloves on my hands.

Personally I don't think it's that comfortable riding when it's 25C or hotter, and think 20C is about perfect riding weather, but I guess Peggy either likes to sweat or doesn't wear any gear whatsoever...
