Hyundai hhd1250 1000w generator at Wal-Mart

Cant comment on that exact model. I run a Hyundai 6250 as well as a Honda 2000i both run like a champ. The biggun is going on three years now. I do oil changes every 100 hrs or so and have had no issues. Still starts first or second pull and I sometimes start it Thurs morning and literally dont shut it off until Sun evening. It runs the timing shack at TMP, registration and usually two or three motorhomes. It burns 20L every eight hours under load. If the smaller inverter model is as good I wouldnt hesitate to buy one. I only use the smaller Honda to power the antenna on the far side of the track.
I know that Costco puts their 2000w inverter on sale pretty often at 300 or so and they seem to work well. You can stack and link them doubling your output if needed. I think this will be my next move. I would love a large inverter but not the extra mortgage payment on one.

Keep an eye out and the deals do pop up occasionally.

If i had room in my trailer for it i would have bought Dave Bissonette's Yamaha 3500W inverter. He sold it for not very many monies.

I have the HY2000si. It'll run my Woodcraft warmers plus my fan, compressor and anything else i need running.

I had some issues with it when it was new because some of them come with a crappy Torch spark plug in them. Swap that with an NGK and it starts 1000% better and runs very smoothly. It is a bit louder than a Honda/Yamaha but at 1/4 the price i can't complain.

I had to buy 2 of these to get one that works...but walmart offers no hassle returns so it was kinda painless except for the one day at the track that I had no warmers running cuz I expected the generator to work and it didn't.

So far, it has been run for hours and hours everday at 8 race weekends, and 4 trackdays. Caboose is right- new sparkplugs help alot.

Sounds like it's hit or miss with some of these... someone else I spoke to said his Hyundai completely seized on him after a year of use. And a handful need to make a few returns before one shows up in working condition.

A quick update on my Honeywell 2000i genny. It ran fine for 2 seasons then the pull start rope broke. So I fitted a new recoil unit and then the thing stopped working properly. It'd run full revs for about 1 minute then die. And the "eco" switch didn't work. I spent a long time on the phone to Honeywell, then Generac, then Northstar Power (?) and ended up being sent to a local repair shop. The guy refused to touch it and 3 other local shops all refused to touch it. In a nutshell, spares are like rocking horse **** and, therefore, no one wants to repair it. So I complained to Costco, as I bought it from them. They agreed to give me a full refund despite it being out of warranty so I struck lucky. But I pity anyone who didn't buy from a big place that can swallow the hit, like Costco.

So, to summarise, great when it runs. An expensive canopy holder downer when it doesn't.

my hyundai 1250 crapped out after 1 season. My briggs and stratton 2500 (used) crapped out after 1 season. finally bought a Yamaha EF2000is, the thing is TITS.

you can't go wrong with Yamaha, their fit and finish is world class. Everything they do from piano to motorcycle to helping Toyota tune the LF-A, their quality is absolutely top class.

Ford Taurus SHO.....

Researching generators, almost every review ended with "should have spent the extra coin and bought a Yamaha/Honda"

i ended up finding a used Honda EU1000 ... so far have used it for about 16-20 hours and it is quiet... ran it all night at a camp site, it was quiet, like background noise you could barely hear ...

I know you guys have nothing but good things to say about the Honda/Yamaha generators but I would like a second opinion on the Yamaha EF2600... Thoughts?

If its an inverter it's an awesome unit. If its a normal generator it will be loud.

I bought a Honda 2000w inverter genny yesterday.

New or used? How much did you end up paying?

Used. Guy had about 1 hour on it. 2012 model still under 3 year warranty. I paid $1050. It hurts to spend that sort of cash but I was getting weary of worrying if my genny would or wouldn't start. And watching my mates start their Hondas with one pull while I was straining myself trying to start mine.

Not a bad deal, there are some good deals to be had if you're willing to travel a little.
How does one go about the warranty when you're buying used? (If applicable)
Do you contact Honda directly or the dealer that sold it to the original buyer?

Perfect - you know I'm going to park my loud arsed CT special beside that nice one eh?

You'll drown out both gennys love.

I would like the Yamaha 2600 as well, mainly becasue it runs on gas and/or propane.
