How would you deal with a condenscending coworker?

As topic states. You're on a temporary job and you find some guy is extremely condescending when explaining things to you. Other coworkers tell you he's normally like that and it pisses them off too. You tell him politely to stop grilling you and he becomes more infuriated and goes so far as to tell you you're wasting his time.

Would you ignore it or step it up? I'm curious to see how you guys would deal with a situation like this.

Plant some pranks. Invest in the future, like down the road so that when your gone, his day is miserable.

Any bozo could figger that out.

Being the "temp" makes it a difficult situation.

Limit interaction if necessary and where possible I would copy/involve the manager.

Treat him the exact same way he treats you.
That won't lead to nothing but aggravation.
The best thing to do is to talk to him and tell him you don't appreciate the way he's treating you.
Even though it's hard sometimes, but be the better person and do your job to the best of your ability.
Don't give him a reason to look down at you and give you attitude.
If he continues to be a d-bag, just throw some pine cones around the office and hope he trips and falls on one of them. ;)

its a temp job, leave in style..

That was my idea...if you're saying what I think you're saying. I even asked the coworker that told me "He's normally like that" if he wanted me to burn some bridges before I leave.
report to HR...:agave:

I've never liked snitching =( Seems low. But I suppose I could.

deal with it and do your job

No, you.

"step it up" meaning?

Whatever you guys would personally do.

That won't lead to nothing but aggravation.

I'm thinking of doing the same. Already asked him to stop grilling me. Next time I'll just tell him to talk to me with respect and ignore him if he doesn't. My interactions with him have been limited and hopefully stay that way.

Now for more info...

Thanks for the responses. I should practice trolling in life with him if stupidity pisses him off lol

Is this your first gig?
first office gig?

What exactly is happening? Is your perspective of what you 'think' you should be treated like, different from what 'reality' treats people like?
Are you on an internship and he's the resident 'train the new guy' employee? could explain his attitude.

I'd post a message on a motorcycle forum asking how to deal with him because i'm a little beeeotch.

then follow the advice given to me, and wash the sand out my vjj.
