Yeah I was drunk and high before too I still don't want a drunk or high person living in my house that I have to take care of.
So much for moving in to Sonnys

I'm fifty something, and don't have time to take of my socks and work it out for you.

Did he pick the name Sonnythebull or was it given to him?

was it shortened to be polite?

My first bullmastiff was named Sonny, he was perfect and is the reason 20 years later I always have 3 bullmastiffs. It's in his honor. If you are suggesting I b@llshit...I dont..

Then you know I didnt inherit anything.i was given a great opportunity and when my dad got sick in 99 and then died ...I paid big money for my business and grew it bigger than it ever was and still growing. No partners no loans no help except my employees.
you suddenly take over a business and employees at 30 years old and pay for it with no warning or planning and see how rich you are 15 years later

Good job JJ.

Since you're willing to talk about your personal life to this extent, not that there's anything wrong with that, would it be out of line to ask what is your line of work?

I think it's poor form to give out personal info about others that they may wish not to share.

Linked to Doug Ford, I think. ;)

I'm having all these exciting/mundane life experiences. Cycled up to Ancaster Timmies the back hard way, sitting there with my coffee stinkin' the place up when this elderly gentleman starts jawing at me. Starts with roll.up.the.rim.I.won.a.coffee.but.why.couldn't.it.be.the.car? lucky to be in the position to not need a free car, mind. From there he listed his life highlights among them his love of learning(back to university @69) teaching career, 15 grandchildren, trail Captain of a stretch of Bruce Trail on and and on. That's fine but here's the thing: nothing was given to him, nothing! Nobody wants to be known for having something given to him.

If anything is given to you then you just don't have the same appreciate for it as if though you built it up yourself....it's called pride....unfortunately many people feel entitled to everything...good job...home...happy life...without putting in a bead of sweat for it.

I think it's a separate issue from appreciation. If you were in an exam where all the answers were fed to you how could you feel good about the great test score in relation to what your classmates got if they knew you had an advantage? Feeling good meaning being more accomplished than your peers.

People always have advantages. A higher IQ would be an advantage. I knew a guy that would ace tests without studying in university cause his measured IQ was in the 160's. Although I'm sure he didn't really feel all that accomplished when he was top of every class he was in either.

That's fine I don't have any qualms about advantages but if that 160IQ guy downplayed his IQ to room temperature and then turned around and bragged his good marks were the result of hard work and tenacity alone.........well that's fraud. And why would he do that?

Anytime someone whose been given an advantage (not earned) and flaunts it over others, that's not right. Most times that advantage is based simply upon the family they were born into.
