How much should I be paying?

Dont buy an older r6 unless you're not planning to use second gear, ever :lmao:

I've pretty much cut it out of my list of choices. Mainly too expensive on kijiji (3500 for a 1999 R6!?)

What's wrong with Vos btw?

I believe this is a myth unless you have some sort of proof behind it...... I believe the reason behind people thinking this is the fact it has a more upright seating position then every SS.

I got insurance quotes from about 12 different places and it was classified as a supersport at every one except SF (It was classified as a 600cc).

Fortunately for me, I'll be State Farm!

Word on the street is that voss brings wrecked bikes from the states, does a hack job fixing them up and resell them.

ya ive heard that Vos or Voss (whatever it is) had some horrible bikes, wasnt there another member here that bought 1 last year and had electrical issues right off the bat?
theres a 2012 cbr600rr there that is red and white, its a paint job we cant get in canada and i really want it!
im trying to sell my spare OEM fairing so i can buy them.

I was actually looking for an R6 of that year and happened to find one that was complete with all the accessories that I wanted.. I prefer carbs tbh, I could have purchased a brand new R6 but that's not what I wanted lol.

Mint bike or not...even 4g's ( plus tax im assuming) is too much for an 02 r6. At least an r6 that is fuel injected and more modern would have been worth it, unless you really really wanted a carbed r6.

Has anyone ever ridden both the 650 by kawasaki and the f4i?

Who actually WANTS a carbed bike unless its like some vintage?

Carbs takes too much work tbh. Leave the carbs to the vintage and move on unless u know how to wrench of course.

Thats what I mean! Of all the r6's that was one of the worst ones. My theory( not that it matters) is that he didnt have cash so he wanted to finance, but his budget was 4k so thats all he could get from a dealer in a sportbike trim for that range.

Well lets just hope he can wrench lol. Carbs may sound easy but to fully clean them? Youll need to throw money on a carb sync too. Then maybe youll want to mod the intake or exhaust. You need to rejet. Carbs arent easy to work with unlike fi where its slap and go. AmiRight or am i right ;)

Ive ridden an SV650 and an F4i and they are not much a like.
The only thing the 650 felt better with was the low end torque.
I prefered the nimbleness, acceleration, handling, braking, looks and overall ride better on the F4i.

After reading a bit more, I'm a little skeptical now on which bike I should be looking towards.

While really wanting the f4i, I'm hoping it's not too much to handle.

Is the 650 sufficient for everyday use and won't wear out your bottom? Like I said before. A bike with sufficient pull and comfort on a day-to-day basis is my requirements for my bike.

I'm not really looking to track. I feel safer on 4 wheels for that. But I am looking to do fast runs once in a while.

I'd like to test ride and test sit, but unfortunately these bikes are not really readily available and people most likely won't let me test ride..

A 650 is more than enough to get you into trouble with the law and keep you smiling all day.

I started on a 600 and was fine, if you respect the machine it will shouldnt be too much to handle. Just don't let your ego get the best of you.

On top of constantly hounding kijiji, I'm also browsing the manufacturer websites for deals.. If you can call them that. Anyway, I noticed on the Kawasaki Motors website that they're showcasing a few deals. The 5 months No Deposit/Payment/Interest seems interesting as I'm sure I'd be able to knock off a good amount of money to get the bike I'm looking at off the lot.

Has anyone dealt with these special promotions before? Are they worth it?

I borrowed a friend's 650 for two weeks and preferred it to a 600 for around-town riding. The power delivery made it fun at lower speeds and easy to ride. Sounded great with a slip-on too.

Some of those financing deals often come with high interest rates, so read the fine print. And you are still being billed for interest, even though it's "no payments for 5 months."
I'd suggest something used, so you wont feel as bad when you drop it.

You don't know my budget, take it easy cowboy. Do you not see my location? "Brooklin".

I was debating on buying a new one but really liked that specific bike. My good friend has had a 2001 R6 since new and I wanted the same bike because I liked riding it so much.

Also happens to match my '79 Camaro Z28 in colour. Hence the instant purchase when I seen it.

Answered the OP's question is all.

sorry to go offtopic, but ive been looking for houses recently and just checked Brooklyn. its cheaper than Mississauga and toronto by far, and if i can get a work transfer out there ide take it i a second!

is there something i am missing? higher property taxes or something there? how do you ike living there? drivers dont seem crazy aggressive wiith the exception of being on the highay, around town seemed no problem.

edit -
back to the bike, houw about something like this? no clue what its worth new or what it should be now... but its not even broken in yet.

Those seem like great deals for the coming season, but I wouldn't be making the purchase until mid to end of May, so those bikes probably won't be there anymore by that time. Right now I'm just planning to make the transaction then super smooth.
