ok guys called the insurance company and I am added on now LOL only costed $500 extra

Gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're being straight with us. Assuming so, thank you!

Seriously. No one cares if you get to legally ride on the cheap; all the better for you. The problem was insurance fraud. You may not have given a damn, but it's that kinda crap that insurance companies use to justify rising rates and insane premiums, which EVERYONE else has to pay for.

So again, thanks.

Enjoy the bike!

Just for some clarification. If there is more than one licensed person in the household they need to be on the policy and is required by law. If there are two individuals in the house that are licensed to ride a motorcycle then they both need to be on the policy or be excluded from the policy, which means both the insured and the excluded individual needs to sign a contract they won't be riding the bike and coverage won't apply if they do. If his dad is on the ownership then the insurance must be in his name, if he is not not ownership and has it insured somehow that is illegal and will not be covered.

Question about that: my kid has expressed an interest in scooters. (He's only 12) when he turns 16 and decides to ride, and gets a scooter, can we get a policy that says he can only ride that, but I can ride both? I think that's what you were saying, but just looking for clarification.

I feel like in that case, the scooter policy will include both of you, but your bike policy will exclude him. If that makes sense.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking.

So if he has the scooter, then you and him could be on it and then you would have to add him to your bike policy and then exclude him from that policy. They will make you sign a contract that says he will not be allowed to ride the bike. This is assuming that you are the owner of the scooter.
