ha found some thing on td [h=3]6. If I lend my bike and my friend causes an accident, his insurance will cover it.[/h]Sorry, but there’s no way to pass this buck. You and your insurance record are both on the hook when you lend out your wheels. Your insurance pays for your damaged car, the claim is on your policy, and your rate may increase, just as if you had been driving the bike yourself.

there now you guys can f$$$ing stop I am legal ok LOL I am lending or borrowing my dads bike

Is living under a bridge for the rest of your life if someone sues you into perpetual financial oblivion part of your plan as well? You won't have to worry about riding anymore, they'll take your bike and everything else you own worth more than a few dollars. Paying back a few hundred thousand (or heck, 1 or 2 million) will take you a while.

I suggest you Google the phrase "car insurance material misrepresentation" and do some reading. Here's a good article to start with. Read the whole thing, don't TLDR this ****, it's a pretty brief but informative article.

You're only kidding yourself. I know you think you're invincible and nothing will ever go wrong at your age. You'll learn.

Asked a friend to run to store for me. Tossed her my keys. She wrote my vehicle off, my insurance policy had to cover 1 million in liability.

I was deemed 100% liable in an accident, 0% fault.

Hope your dad knows the outcomes.

Don't waste your keystrokes, he's decided he's rejecting reality and substituting his own, apparently unable to interpret the fact that what he's doing still means he's actually uninsured.

Can't keep borrowing something if you live at the same address.

Try again.

I am not sure if your dad loves you or what.
He is risking a lot to put himself in a position of an 18 year old and a sport bike for his first bike of all things.

You probably wont listen but here goes anyway.
BE SMART
store the F4i...it's a good solid bike.
Go buy yourself a cheap fun bike e.g. Suzuki DRZ400 or a Ninja 250.

You are caught up with the image of impressing ppl. You will look real stupid missing a leg or arm or worse going to jail for something you caused.

You will be on 2 wheels, that is all the cool you need.
If someone that is not on a bike makes fun of you, just say thanks but this is more fun than the TTC.

If someone in your age group makes fun of your smaller bike, say thanks, we all got to start somewhere, even Rosi and Marquez rode around on 125/250's.

There are a lot of ppl here that ride smaller bikes because they want to. They have the money and they also have the bigger bikes in their garage but they have fun on the smaller bikes.

If you truly love your dad, change the path you are on because you are going to create a mess for him. His insurance will skyrocket, they will investigate an 18 year old in a bike accident. You will lose. There are insurance guys here...guys that ride and work for insurance companies...they can tell you first hand of what will happen to you and your dad.

Dude, this is the point in life right now that if something happens you will be saying where could I have changed the outcome.
This is that point. Don't ever say that someone did not tell you.

Stop and reread this...think about it and do it. I can promise you within the riding season you will be thankful you read this thread and you will see the other boneheads out there.

Think of it this way, it's like having sex with a girl you just met an hour ago, would you not wear a condom and also climax inside of her...who would you blame then if you get a serious STD and or she gets pregnant...both things will change your life forever.

You should go back to doing doughnuts on the beach with your DT50. Would be less dangerous for yourself & others.

You "MAY" think you are our dad's "friend", but I can assure 100% the insurer will view your father/CHILD relationship otherwise. Read it again does it say "family member, or relative" at all in that section?

Keep telling yourself your right and everyone else here, (some with insurance experience some with law enforcement experience), are all wrong. You are the smartest KID on the face of the earth you and your dad have figured out the ONE loophole that no one else has yet to discover. Congrats.

You notice even your bud in the beginning of this thread, has stopped posting his support, even he has figured out you are in for a very rude awakening, WHEN you crash, the worst part is dad if he is oblivious he too will get a VERY quick education when he and your mom lose their home, cars, savings, and still possibly owe hundreds of thousands from a lawsuit, because you "ride or die"

Class dismissed, as you are unwilling or unable to process the truth, as has been posted here. Let's hope your parents never get a late night door knock from a police officer. Trust me it is the worst thing any parent has to deal with. How do I know? Because I have been that officer. Then in the coming days, they are told insurance is denying the claim due to insurance fraud. The they tell him all his other policies are also canceled. But again you know it all.

Wow you guys needs to lighten up. He started off by asking for an opinion on a bike, and now this is a **** show about insurance. You all already "stated the facts". Whether he chooses to believe you, or take your advice, is his decision, let him deal with it. You already gave him the facts, now stop jamming it down his throat.

Man I heard GTAM members frequently go nuts but wow.. yall take it to another level. "My e-penis is bigger than yours!"

OP just needs to post more in r/motorcycles. Lots of climaxing in less bitter flavours, though the shoving is pretty much the same. #inreb rules

Call your insurance company/broker/agent and ask them why your rates are so high. Guaranteed reply... insurance FRAUD.

Also providing the information may just help someone else who is considering a similar option. Still not sure why he posted asking for opinions on a bike he ALREADY owned. As was pointed out the more logical route would be seek input, do research then buy recommended bike. Not buy bike then , ask if it is a good bike. Unless of course the dealer or seller puts in writing you have say 72 hours to revoke the sales contract with ALL funds, (including deposit), will be returned....lol
