how angry would it make you if other rider passed you in your own lane?

was riding on 403 east doing about 120ish in the left lane when all of a sudden I hear (insert ducati sound) on my left side and this $%^& on a monster passed me at least at 150+ speed!!! after which he darted in and out like they were gonna award him.

You &^%$ ****** bag if you don't care about your own life then go jump from a bridge. At least let others live. I usually move from left to right in my lane and had I moved a tiny bit at that moment the outcome would not have been very good. It was scary honestly.

I thought of pursuing him but then said to myself one idiot on the road is enough.

Very angry. Poor decision making on the Ducati riders' part.

I normally think these threads are stupid, but i must admit, that would royally piss me off!

If i wasn't busy, I would follow him and have a word, he might not realize how stupid that is so I would make sure to explain it and hope he is not doing it just to be a total *******

id be ****** for sure...****ing hooligan

2 weekens ago, DVP southbound Saturday 5pm full traffic, about 20 riders on sport bikes riding down between the cars and using the shoulders.

one minute im checking my 6 and the next milisecond they fly by almost touching me @ about 80kph in stand still traffic.

and yes, they were wearing tank tops and icon vests or back armour...as you assumed.

Then it is fine, we all know anyone wearing a ******/poser vest has complete control over their motorcycle.

It's bad enough that cagers do that to us (I've had a few incidents with people deliberately forcing me out of my lane as well)... You would think fellow riders would understand and refrain from the same kind of behaviour, but some people are just idiots.

That said, I've had both cagers and riders do this -- not just in the passing lane either -- and it pisses me right off every time. IMHO, unless I specifically wave you by, you have no right to share my lane-space, especially passing by at dangerously high speeds. We've even had riders swerve through the middle of a group and nearly cause a huge accident.

You were definitely wise not to pursue, as you said, one idiot on the road is already too many. Never know if someone else is tailing them -- could have even been running from a cop or something -- so best not to get involved. Just let it go, relax, and be thankful that nothing worse happened.

It's already happened to me (within my first 500km), but I may have done something to indicate it was ok...

I was going east on Hwy 2 from Bowmanville to Newcastle. There was moderate traffic, cars in-front and behind. I noticed a motorcycle overtaking cars behind me, and eventually he passed me, but that was as far as he could go for now.

As I was behind him (I am a noob) and I haven't ridden with other bikers, I decided to move over to the right tire-track, as I was taught in my motorcycle class. (Proper riding in formation?).

What I didn't realize is, he had a buddy who was trying to catch up. His buddy got behind me, then shot passed me (in my lane) to take formation in-front of me, in the right tire-track.

I wasn't sure what to make of the situation. I think because I moved over to right tire track, that invited people to pass me in my lane? But I'm not sure he wouldn't have passed me on the right side.

The only take-away I know for sure, when one bike passes, expect another?

I wanted to be ******, but maybe he thought I was giving him the OK. Who knows? Just another reminder that everyone wants to kill you, even our brothers on two wheels. :)

You think that's bad? I had some ****** pass me on the northbound DVP exit at Bayview once. I was already leaning.

Remember this..

These riders are also the same drivers that are still clueless whether on 2 wheels or with 4

would piss me off, but as above were you passing? Its not right to be a left lane bandit, but...

I had a d!ck pass me on the left, in a car (two wheels dropped onto the left shoulder) as I was passing another car, I guess the "greater than flow of traffic" I was doing wasn't enough for this obviously important person. I would estimate he was doing some 150-160 passing me.

I wanted to follow him to find out what I needed to do to be as important as him, but I held myself back.

This makes me think about what i saw yesterday, my wife and i went down the waterfront trail at confederation park walking the dogs. I was amazed at how many people were flying up and down the paved walkway just missing people walking along with their kids, dogs, etc on bikes or roller blades. What happens if some family is walking along with their little Johnny andhe steps to the right two feet, he would be road kill on a walking path.

I get there is a desire to get out and get some activity, but i wouldnt want to be the guy who mows down a 3 year old on a bike or in roller blades... Parents need to keep control of their kids, but it was a little rediculous. My wife commented a few times she swore she felt some of the cyclists brush her shoulder as they went by

edit: just reading about the trail on the Confederation park website, it identifies the trail as follows: Take a scenic stroll, bike ride or skate along the 4.3 kilometre Hamilton Beach Trail. This promenade connects to the Waterfront Trail that runs another 4.2 kms west to Burlington ship canal. Picturesque views of the shoreline and plenty of park space make this a perfect spot for any outing.

I take this that walking on the trail is prohibited? Maybe I am wrong, but I will check for signage next time :D

sorry to send your topic a bit off course :)

Those bike paths are not supposed to be used by pedestrians, they are supposed to walk beside the path. I avoid those paths not because of kids, but dogs.

Had a car at Kingston Rd and McCowan area park beside me at a red light yesterday while two up with my girlfriend (I was in the left tire track in the far right lane). I tried explaining that it's one vehicle per lane and he said "you're on a motorcycle, I can fit."

Last summer there was an afternoon I was on the 401 in the middle lane, closer to middle of the lane and icon vest idiots flew past me almost clipping my bike. The flow of traffic at 130 wasn't fast enough. Some riders are flipping idiots.
