hope this ***** burns in hell.. Woman 22 kills cyclist in hit and run

I feel like when horrible drivers like this are clearly identified, their driving schools (whichever instructor) who signed her "passing" test needs to have a audit of their own abilities performed. If the car she drove isn't owned by her, than whoever owns it should be held partially resposible, for allowing a person without a valid license access to it.

This kind of thing has nothing to do with driving skills imparted by a driving school and everything to do with attitude. The attitude thing in her is little different than the attitude displayed by many riders - one of self-entitlement and f the world if it doesn't like what one is doing.

The one who does own the vehicle is already legally liable for the actions of anyone who uses to the vehicle, in part through the HTA and in much larger part through civil liability common law. It's been that way for decades.

I agree, she is entirely responsible. Don't blame her license examiner from 8 years ago, don't blame the car owner. She made the choice to drink. She wasn't in control of a 3000lb chunk of metal. She hit that dude and killed him.

We need to start treating these incidents for what they are: manslaughter. If you're an ******* playing with a gun and you shoot someone in the face, you are charged with their death. For whatever reason people are more forgiving when it's a car, maybe it's because driving is such a huge part of our culture and we all spend so much time doing it.

with an attitude like hers i don't believe manslaughter is the correct term. it's like firing a gun off into a crowd.

I'd say throw her in jail for manslaughter (at least), DUI, and any other charges, then prevent her from ever getting a license again. Sadly, if she already was driving with an invalid license, then preventing her from getting another won't keep her off the road.

Frankly, to be honest, people today dumbfound me and make me lose faith in today's society...and I'm only 33. So many accidents are preventable, from idiots texting and driving or walking across the road looking at their phone. People today seem so caught up in themselves and think the world revolves around them like the Truman Show. Sure, you could try to train better drivers, but when 90% of the people out there see a car simply as a way to get from point A to B, and feel they should be doing something else since 'driving is a burden/is boring', things aren't really going to change.

Pretty sure it's her car. She had a previous DUI and the pic shows someone in the passenger seat blowing into an ignition restrictor. Usually something you agree to have installed so you can drive again. Common work-around to have someone sober blow into it to allow you to start your car.

Her profile on Fb is still up.

Man, some of those pictures are foretelling! Car accidents, alcohol, parties, and such.

Also posted her (partial) address in one picture, her workplace, etc. Why???

Take a look if you want to shake your head, under the name Dasha Selinevich (instead of Darya)

The underlying question is how do we stop people from doing bad things if the people don't give a s*** about the potential damage.

WE ALL DO IT to some degree but there are lines we don't cross. Loud pipes annoy people but I doubt that the loud pipers DUI killing people.

Brutal punishment is often suggested but 'merica proves that doesn't work. Look at the recidivism rates.

Forgiveness and second chances didn't do the cyclist she killed any good.

while I have no problem with her driving off a cliff killing her and her stupid friend she would likely hit someone esle as previously demonstrated.

isn't fleeing the scene a lesser charge than dui usually?

Probably, but "failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing death" sounds a little worse.

Cordon off a huge section of wilderness with no resource value, and 'jail' all the proven sociopaths there to fend for themselves. If they don't want to put up their end of the social contract then that's the place for them. It's not a death penalty, but close.

They need an interlock that plugs into your vein, checks the DNA is yours, and checks the blood alcohol level.

**** should rot. I have family that have no parents because of a drunk driver.

Send her back to mother Russia with all the other terrible drivers are.

Sad. I recall an accident almost in the same location or at Sentinel Rd/ Finch Rd and few years back. Speeding driver in a BMW (no prejudice) rams into a van with a family in it.

Wasn't a stupid 19 y/o russian kid as well? If I remember all correctly he was doing 120 on a 60 zone with daddy's BMW.

No prejudice either.

All these pedestrians/cyclists being killed.....does anyone know who's fault it was....???

All you hear about is the hit and run, and is wrong in itself, but who's fault is it that the person died?

I'm williong to bet 9-10 times it's the pedestrian/cyclists fault, I'd probably kill a few people every year if I wasn't paying attention to those idiots.

Hope you run a dash cam so you can prove your innocence if someone gets hit. Not that you should need to, but it would make your life a lot easier if it ever happened.
