Ya but how comprehensive is that training? These guys aren't being taught wrist locks or anything. For the most part its probably safe to assume that most bus drivers are just regular people with regular "fighting" skill levels.
I have to admit that his uppercut was pretty damn good, though haha. Maybe he's thrown a few in his life or maybe he's been trained somewhere. Regardless, she came back...with a freakin' vengeance. It's tough to see from the video but maybe he held back. A dood his size should be able to knock someone of her size out cold.
Man, the problem with this thread is that some of you are so hung up on the whole "man hitting a woman" thing, that you guys and gals can't just sit back and enjoy a nice video of a loud mouth, rude, person getting EXACTLY WHAT SHE DESERVES! Stop trying to turn this into a moral women beating debate. Forget about the fact that it's a woman for a second and re-watch the video. It feels good don't it? Seeing that big mouth of hers getting a fistful of shut the **** up.
For the record I do not want to hit women, nor have I ever laid a hand on a female that I can remember, and I think wife beaters are scum but the whole old school "being a gentlemen" and women being "defenseless" and needing our protection thing hasn't been so hammered into my head from an early age, that I can't see anything else. Not once have I mentioned him using a wrist lock... Common sense for him would be instead of yelling back at her, is like I said before is to put the bus out of service and call it in. His supervisor and cops would have showed up and delt with her properly if she hadn't left already.
For every action there is a reaction. Had he dealt with her properly in the first place, she probably wouldn't had even yelled at him. His attitude towards her is why she was freaking out in the first place. She didn't get on that bus yelling at him. Not condoning her behaviour but his behaviour was way off as well. 20 years on the job, he knows better.
Hey I agree with you for the most part, but you're looking at this in hindsight. For the record I think he got suspended, anyway. I think there's a post-fight interview on youtube somewhere.
He was defending himself and he responded with an amount of force that he found appropriate for the situation. Based on her statements, she won't go picking fights with random strangers again, while pulling the female card.
I've seen police beatings that were perfectly justifiable. A few whacks to teach the punk a lesson without putting him through the legal system ringer, which would have been an excessive response even if found "not guilty". I was even on the receiving end of one of those (I didn't do anything wrong but the situation didn't warrant protesting my innocence, so I took the whacks alongside the guilty party)
First of all, the response might have been a bit more than many of us would have gone for, but we're armchair quarterbacking here. He was in that seat, being attacked by a mad woman while having a bunch of lives in his hands. As for your curse, been there, done that (even though it was never just "someONE"),, lived to tell the tale.

Meh i still stand by my original comments, in this particular case the driver was in no danger.
The bus was at a stop when the woman hit/slapped the driver, the second video on youtube clearly shows this.
I was always taught by my parents that men dont hit women.....I do not think this woman was acting with class as stated, however; I think his response was rather extreme. I do believe this was his professional environment, and he should have acted more professionally, I do feel he had other less extreme reactions available to him.

My ex told me a story about an ex of his that slapped him in the face, he responded by slapping her back..at the time I didnt think much of it....but turns out he was a wife beater....and tried it out on me.....so this wasnt restricted to one incident or because of being "instigated" he was good with this kind of behaviour all on his own....

Usually the famous last words of people about to get indicted for using excessive force in "self defense". Thats why its an objective test. Its not, and never has been about what HE thinks is appropriate. We can see what he thinks is appropriate and there is nothing worth defending there.
I don't feel like I need to say anymore. But its kind of ironic that many of the people who like to come here and talk about how moral people used to be and decry the current generation are the same as the ones that are now using "equality" as a justification for what is clearly immoral and thug like behaviour.

If my sister acts like that and pushes and punches a big black dude, then her brain isnt exactly working all that well in the first place and a punch in the head wont change much. If anything, it might do some good lol that being said, my sister and im sure most peoples female family members here are not crazy RADICAL femenist thugs and are ladies. With that being said, my other female relatives weren't brought up in a barn so they know how to act like proper human beings even when passions get heated.
For the record, had I been in the transit operator's shoes, I'd drag her and her stuff off the bus as an initial physical response. I'd probably run the risk of the crazy woman saying to herself "hey, he didn't smack me back, why don't I try this again" so I understand why he decided to escalate the level of response. You can bet that she knew what was gonna happen to her if she attacked him again
