hide your plate

yes, G20. The one were they threw people in jail for no reason, beat up a guy for no reason, removed their IDs, and had mass amnesia and were not able to ID other officers on video.
Most of them got off.

They are actually getting better, they used to ask SS bikes to pull of on side roads, while one officer ordered you to remove your helmet, the other would crack you with a baton.
The appearance of videos cameras everywhere has changed this, and hopefully, they will be required to wear cameras in the future. most of those guys are ok and cool, but when they get a bad apple, it's really rotten.

From a FB convo with a cop buddy:

Rider never even knew he was there until he got out of the stealth Explorer. It only takes 3-4 cops to shut down a highway and you'll never outrun the radio.

So these stealth cars, someone else called them undercover cars. We're talking about the blue-on-blue speed-trap cars or are there actual undercovers in traffic? What kind of world do we live in anyway..

Afaik the one in question is 100% unmarked with a dark dark tint on the rear windows.

When you break the law - like hiding your plate - you put yourself at the mercy of the state. Those who know any history at all can tell you that the state has no mercy. Even if you did manage to outrun a police chase you would thereafter freak every time you SAW a policeman. It's just not worth it. If you want to crank it out legally, go to the track. If you don't, just budget for the higher insurance and fines that go with the territory. When you run, you put all the wrong ideas into the police mind and it just escalates -- faster than you can imagine.

Easy there Judge Dredd - Lol at being freaked every time. Police already have the wrong idea, they are petulant, arrogant and bastards...with some exceptions and I am guessing you are one of them.

You know, there is a more nuanced way of expressing that in a way that captures the rational skepticism everyone should have as it relates to their own interests in a situation where someone is exercising power. A bad attitude is kind of self-fulfilling.

In terms of the original topic, these plate cover things are stupid. I see cars every day with tinted plate "protectors" where their license plate isn't legible from further than 10-15ft. Unless it is electronically controlled opaque film, they seem like a heat score for punks. If you are going over 150, and not going well over 200, you are going just fast enough to be asking to be caught. Fast enough to attract attention, not fast enough to get gone and stay gone.

If you learn respect for the rules before you break them, they will be too busy with those who openly flout them to bother with you.

.
A bad attitude has nothing to do with being stopped and accused of going over 50 when your GPS clearly states that you didn't and the only reason you are not convicted on the side of the road is because the ******* with a badge realizes he is caught in a lie

I respect the rules, Do not respect the people that take advantage of their position of power to walk over other people, these types of people are called bullies

Well, actually I'm a minister, so I'm looking at it from the confessional side more than the enforcement side. And I'd say 4 out of 5 people - cops or otherwise - are trying to be nice and do a good job. This is in my experience. It's also my experience that you get back what you put out.

All I was saying was that it's a lot less complicated to just confront it when you get busted for speeding. Can you imagine how much time and money our friend will waste going to court when he gets busted for disguising his plate, not to mention fines and other ******** like suspended license or whatever ( To tell you the truth I don't even know what the penalties are for something like that but I can guarantee you that it's a LOT worse than a speeding fine).

Yeah, you might not think you would be freaked out every time. And maybe that's the wrong way to put it, but it would certainly colour every interaction you had with them and not in a helpful way. Like I said, it's just not worth it.

My kids will laugh at me being called Judge Dredd. Sly Stallone I am definitely not. That's a LOL.

Doing something to hide your plate just makes the cops look at it more. Leave it alone and then there is nothing to see here.

Riding in a non-attention-getting manner will go a whole lot further. Proper riding gear, reasonable speed for the conditions (if there is traffic, go with the flow, not through it), proper lighting, quiet exhaust system, proper license plate ... fewer tickets that way.

Yes, there are bullies, no doubt about it. But doing something like hiding your plate makes you their prime target.

Too many worried people on here. My plate is well hidden underneath the tail there. I've put 20k with it being like that this season and the only time I got hassled is by a bycicle cop chick at the red light. I just brushed her off, no big deal.
Well worth it with all the free KM that I put on 407, and that's taking it from 401 all the way to Brock rd. and back every time. My money and time saved.

Until it isn't, like when some cop stops you on the 407 for evading payment.

When they "shut down" the highway at 2am - what happens to all the rest of the traffic?

...

LOL what'd you say to her - "What's that, a ticket? Naaah *****, I'm not interested." <turns head> <twists throttle>

?? :lmao:

Ah, if only we could harness the arrogance of youth as a power source.

No more fossil fuels, unlimited power for everyone forever. :D

Logic and common sense have no place here.
