A buddy of mine made one out of a cabinet hinge and his old fender eliminator. Works like a charm, but he took it off ever since that cop blitz @ L&L.
Before you go buy a hide-away plate mount, you need to seriously ask yourself if you've got the balls to run from the cops and the skill to get away. If you don't, wasting your money and risking the ticket just isn't worth it. You may impress people but the T-dot squid crowd gets old quick.
If you're doing it for free rides on the 407, just remember they have people dedicated to catching those that evade tolls and basically have the 407 detachment of the OPP at their disposal.

To add, if you're going on the same entrance and exit every day you're gonna get booked. I wouldn't recommend this but I've seen and heard of ppl wheelieing on entrance and exit to hide the plate on occasional uses lol If you crash or die it is not my fault!
With regards to running from cops, I'd say 99% of the time they won't chase out of everyone's safety (theirs, the public, and yours) but sometimes they do. I'd be more worried about your safety than your plate if you choose to run, adrenaline is a hit or miss when operating a superbike/supersport.

Rider never even knew he was there until he got out of the stealth Explorer. It only takes 3-4 cops to shut down a highway and you'll never outrun the radio.
Apart from that, you get some jumped up rookie on any police force and you're just begging for trouble. Remember what happened in Markham at the beginning of the season?

Yes, why is it always gixxers lol I know one of the mechanics at Rosey Toes had the same happen to him on Markham Road and 401.
Major Mac, I forgot the exact intersection but it was east of the 404. Gixxer ran from cop, ran into SUV, and died =(
That's why cops don't chase, adrenaline is a double edged sword and more often than not it does everything you don't want for smooth operation of a motorcycle.
But as noted in Macs story, if you're stupid enough to be pulling 200 at 2AM on the 400 series, it better only be for an exit or two lol

in fact I know of 3 or 4 cops who are active on here. I myself came very close to getting into policing as a career, but I found a better calling. That said he's much more of an ADV guy. All I was trying to point out is there are a lot of misconceptions on GTAM among the sportbike crowd (of which I am a part) about police response/tactics etc. They catch far more riders than we would expect, just not many on here I guess.

Keep in mind that simply having that device on your bike can result in troubles with the law.

I tried for RCMP didn't do so well on the RPAB (70%), great on the PARE course, though.
Went all the way through the Polygraph interview, then I lost the drive to do it after talking to ex-RCMP constables. I know I don't want to be a cop in Ontario though. Anyways, doing Resource Management/Conservation now and couldn't be happier than I was in Uni working Security jobs
