No, very different. If you're not wearing a seatbelt you risk flying around and hitting other people in an out of control vehicle. That violates the rights of others. Riding with no helmet in no way puts others at risk of harm.
Except for the people that pay into the health system. The system that feeds you thru a straw in a ltc facility for the rest of your life. There are lots of them.

Turns out healthcare and insurance payouts are lower in places without helmet laws. Accident rates are slightly lower, but the biggie is fatality rates.
Its a lot cheaper to bury you than it is to keep you alive.

I think motorcyclists pay into the socialist health care system just like anyone else, therefore we have a right to draw on it. If you're more likely to die than live without a helmet you're not drawing on the system. Rigging a health care system to take away individual freedoms like the right to take a personal risk is unbecoming of a free and democratic society IMO. As has been said here already, insurance is lower in no-helmet law U.S. states.
Soooo...
You're telling me you *WANT* to be strapped to a 450+ pound vehicle as it tumbles off the road?
Nope Nope Nope.. you test the seatbelts on a motorcycle first and let me know how it goes.

Move to Russia. You can do whatever you want there as long as you not critique Putin. If it's a deal breaker - move to Mongolia. You can do whatever you want there including talking **** about Putin.
So the possibility of getting hit in the head by road debris, becoming incapacitated, and veering into oncoming traffic or up on to the sidewalk doesn’t exist in your world. Got it.

That's a Final Destination scenario, and also, life is full of it's own mysteries on how things happen. I've personally got 2 bee's stuck in my helmet, and had to quickly pull over/get out of the road, and one wasp stuck in my armour which almost led to a low side. At this rate, you might as well say no one should ride motorcycles, because fatalities and injuries even with gear, is exponentially higher than with cars.
PS. This is really sad, and show's how unpredictable things can be, hemlet, no helmet, motorcycle, or no motorcycle.

Pretty sure your helmet is not going to help you if you get hit it the face with a wheel. Are you just arguing against motorcycles in general?
We're all lovers of an inherently dangerous form of transportation. We're all comfortable with different levels of risk. The way that you talk about no helmets is the same way my grandma talks about motorcycles and the same way Amish talk about cars.
