hd hero2 out

**** balls ......can you do trade ins? I see battery life isn't increased though. You get a few extra ports (external mic port and mini HDMI is good), the interface is simplified (no more stupid codes to learn) and the angle of view options in a few modes has increased.

EDIT: Any idea if version 2 fits in version 1 housings?

The big differences to me look like the lens angles, photo modes and the 4 LEDS to show that its active. That is a nice change. The vids from the H1 are so good that if these are better it will be pretty amazing....

U can do it now if you have last firmware - says my manual. I plan to get extra housing, drill a hole and route a cable through.
I just picked up mine on Sat from GP Bikes and already spent extra 100 to get LCD bacpac.
Will probably get GoPro 2 as a second cam - so I can do different angles at the same time!

Please tell me you can easily connect it to external power (i.e. MY BIKE)?!?

Edit: Sweet Jeebus! http://gopro.com/camera-accessories/auto-charger/

Can record AND charge at the same time!

Woot :)

Looks like it has a 12V input now, but no mention of it accepting xtinal ...errr external power.

In the FAQs though, it says it goes into USB mode when a USB is plugged in. http://gopro.com/support/faq-hd-hero2-cameras/#no-live-feed-via-USB

So, I'm a bit unclear what it'll do exactly with external power..'

EDIT:
Never mind, according to this there is no 12V input, but you can record while connected to USB with all models of GoPro

I am still happy - very cool cam and I will probably get gopro2 with wifi remote in spring.

When it slows down, is that 60FPS? or is that the new 120FPS (Quality seems a bit too good for VGA though)?

It must be the new 120fps (slow-motion setting). Otherwise, the advert would be incomplete as it would not have displayed all the new features.
Keep in mind tho, low-res shot on a good camera can be (much) better than the full HD video captured on a crappy/old-gen cam. I think that's the situation here.

Yes but i'm viewing it in 1080p on youtube on my monitor with a resolution of 2048x1152. No matter how good the video quality is, VGA video (640×480) will still not look as good.

But then again, my videos never look as good as the ones shown in the demo's (GoPro HD)
