We'd been talking in PM's about something and I wanted to get ahold of him to move forward on the plan....but it appears he hasn't been on since spring, and he's not reading PM's either.
@mimico_polak may have his phone number. We'd been talking in PM's about something and I wanted to get ahold of him to move forward on the plan....but it appears he hasn't been on since spring, and he's not reading PM's either.
Not a member there and would prefer not to setup an account just to send one single PM...perhaps you or someone else could drop him a message and ask him to check his PM's here?He is on ADVRider. 2young
No "mass" to migrate. Very fractured set of interests on 2 wheels
I find that the forums that cover a broader interests (GTAM or ADVrider etc) vs the forums that are model/bike specific (r6messagenet, 600riders etc) have a little more life in them. Of course nothing compared to 10+ years ago.Forums are quickly going the way of the dodo, with users migrating to all manner of social media platforms. Same thing happened with Usenet. And then it happened with BBSes.
Same kind of mass migration will eventually happen with FB and TikTok a decade and a half from now. The next generation will never want to be on the same platform as Gramps is on.
Frankly, I'm surprised GTAM has lasted this long.
I estimate there are presently two dozen regular posters on here. A couple of years ago, it was double that figure. A couple of years from now, it will be half. Just be thankful that Paul didn't sell this place to VerticalScope. There'd be three posters on here right now if that had happened.
VS did buy ADVRider earlier this year. That's basically the death knell for that forum.
I won't jump ship. Jousting with lefties makes me look smarter than I am.That's exactly the thing. This forum skews heavily left and it's no surprise that the first people to jump ship are right-leaners.
Indeed. He seemed close to the edge.Speaking of missing people, I wonder about Chinese characters guy, hope he’s doing alright.
checked facebook, its already like that. The next generation will never want to be on the same platform as Gramps is on.
