Had someone act like an ******* to me cause of the car I drive

Trouble is, the Pathfinder won't die. The wife is a 'don't replace it if it ain't broke' type, and I already have a toy car I spend money and time on lol

yessir, Im very well aware of the VG30 motor on that vehicle. Its damn near bulletproof.

I have an R51, so its a VQ40DE motor. The single biggest failure on these Pathfinders is the transmission cooler integrated into the engine radiator.. it leaks and sends coolant into the transmission. $3500 later.....

I fixed that issue on day one by bypassing that transmission cooler. 100k+ later and she's still running like a dream, I even towed my car (4000lbs+ with trailer) with it for 800km, took it like a champ.

First year, '05.. got it off-lease in late 2008 with 85k, its just over 200 now. Money well spent. At the time I was considering a 545i (around $30k) but I impulse-bought a new bike and slashed my car budget. Worked out well in the end!

So I went to a gas station today to clean my car (since it's actually above 0) and decided to check the tire pressure just in case. Some dude was using the pump so I'm waiting and notice I have a toonie and no loonies and the machine takes loonies only. So I attempt to ask the dude if he has change. Dude, doesn't respond and continues pumping up his tires. Fair enough, the pump is timed, so I just wait for him to finish. Dude finishes, turns to me and then starts making comments about how I drive a "60 thousand dollar car" and in a somewhat sarcastic, and almost angry sounding tone says "good for you!". LOL, wtf? I drive a 2011 135i that I bought used for 25K. It's not even an expensive car. Do people just assume that if you drive a BMW you're automatically an ******* and treat you accordingly?

sounds like you got

roasted

I'm thinking had you got a 545i with 80k and rolled 200k on it your life may have been different, I don't like BMW maintenance one bit.

^^ everybody knows that F1 is the pinnacle of auto racing. 'Nuff said.

I get the notion of spin off technology and all that, but there is so little in common with F1 and an off the lot car. Rolex Daytona 24hr will likely be won this yr by a Vette. Only thing it has common with a vette is a bit of body shape.

I'll admit that Mercedes has some nice looking vehicles lately but as far as I'm aware they make next to nothing with a manual transmission so I'm not interested one bit.

Sevenyears ago I would have agreed. With it becoming more and more of a spec series on a weekly basis, LMP has succeed it as the series with the most advanced/innovative cars.

Back to being a ******... When I had my never washed, paint faded, audi 90 I always used to do the "Brooo watch it, it's an audi" whenever I parked beside much nicer cars. It was quite hilarious when I pulled that one on a pristine BMW 745 with a russian mob guy in it.

Sadly, get used to it. More and more are going way from manual.
