Guys, Please. Stay away from me.

Hey, we might know the same person.
Was he riding a VERY big motorcycle?

I've known a biker who kicked over a clown who rode up next to him in his lane. Respect people, it's not your lane to share unless you are signalled to do so by the rider in front. Maybe the next time I see a Yamaha dual purpose bike I'll squeeze my car alongside him and say hello.

i notice if someone doesnt want to share their lane at a light they stop in the middle. I always yeild to the bike who stopped first and as soon as possible grab my own lane.

Don't make that assumption. I don't stop in the middle of the lane, at lights, because I don't want to slip in a greasy spot. The middle of the lane, at lights, is where all of the garbage that drips off cars collects.

So I was stopped at a light this morning and I see a rider pull up next to me. I gave him a head nod as he was coming up. This loser not only came into my lane but passes me and stops where pedestrians are supposed to cross and doesn't even acknowledge me. WTF...

Couldn't care less that he is sharing the lane with me, or that he went in front of me but at least give me a head nod... so rude.

Huh. I thought that they only punched car windows.

I am finding more bikers are doing that. Either that or get REALLY chatty at lights which is cool but give me a sec to rip out the headphones. Pretending to hear what you say is kinda rude imo.

It was very disapointing:( I need a hug now. lol

Wow, there are a lot of people on here with some really bad attitudes. I don't hate every person driving a car just because some of them do some stupid things, so why hate on every biker that pulls up with you at a stop? I like to do that for safety's sake if I'm already behind them, not to make conversation or pass. It is not an aggressive move to do this; getting hostile with the other rider is.

+1

For some things there is pretty much nothing that we can do right there on the spot. Responding with hostility only adds to the problem.

i agree with low rider, if i don't know you, don't pull up beside me in my lane...i have enough to think about with the cagers on the road...i don't care too much when they do it, it just ain't polite...

I really think you guys are confused.
I actually enjoy if another rider pulls up beside me and sais "HI" in his own lane.
That's cool.

But please don't feel the need to invade my space just to come up to say Hello.

I don't trust anybody to do the right thing, because of the number of times they don't do the right thing.

Friday on the way home from work. I see this guy riding behind me on a 500 Ninja.
He was a few cars behind and was trying to catch up to me. He was stealing all my moves in traffic, trying desperatly to catch up to me.
When finally he caught me, I blocked his passage on purpose so that he could not pull beside me. Next light I did the same thing.
The next light, he pulled up beside me even though I had left no room for him.
I kindly asked him to keep his distance.

Listen, I am an instructor, and I know the kind of riders there are out there. And I trust nobody I don't know.

Why is is so important to other riders to come up beside another rider at a light, just to say hello.

I don't know you. I have no desire to get to know you, I don't trust you to do the right thing once we get into traffic.
As a matter of fact, almost every rider I have let come up beside me in my lane, to say hello has boned me in my lane, when we got riding down the road.
Or gotten in my way when I want to pass a car.

I will not ever let another rider get into my lane at a light.

Can somebody please explain the need to share my lane with me?

Its part of the social aspect and brother hood of the sport. People always pull up beside me and say "great day for a ride, eh?" If we pull off and they are squidly then Ill just dip.

A lotta people have been stressing over dumb **** on here lately eh?

I think that there a lot more people who agree with me than dissagree.

I agree about being passed in your own lane, unless its your buddy and blah blah blah. But a random no, thats not cool. I dont see a problem with pulling up beside someone at a light. You should be in the left or right tire track anyways and not in the center of the lane (especially at an intersection where oil collects there) which leaves more than enough room for a bike to safely pull up in the opposing tire track. What is the issue with that?
