GTAM at TMP Weekend! July 20/21 2013

I weight 200lb too. Changed the springs to 1.00 kg/mm, thinking that I'll lose weight (hence the preload to bring it to a bit less than 30mm). In hindsight, I should've went with 1.05kg/mm in both forks (or at least one of them). But, even so, forks work well now (despite the preload and shorter travel). I also have thicker oil in there (10w) for more damping (the poor man's revalve alternative).

Let me know if you switch to 1.05's so I can buy your current 1.00's :D

Great day!!! Didn't really meet any Gtam members. I was overwhelmed.

Tom on a s1000rr. If you are on here thanks for all the tips! Your neighbor on the red cbr

Sure. Look for a yellow SV.

Now I see your post. I wonder how you know I need safety wire :)

Thanks for your help. You are a life saver Saturday! And your crew is very fun!

It was a perfect track day. Great times and nice meeting all of you. If anyone has any pics of the blue / orange zx6rr (#2) with a red/black suit in intermediate group on sunday please let me know. :)

It's ok, it was the first dry session on the reducing left radius turn. For the moment for that corner I go into it a bit slower and power out.

I saw you on the inside just after I rolled on the throttle. It was more just because I saw you too late, wasn't expecting anyone else in the line until you were right there :p

If you want to see what a really overly aggressive pass in 6 looks like, check out this video from last year at about 8:40.

I was the last bike he passed and it was right at the exit cone. He had practically no track left at that point because I had no idea he was there.

I once had another fellow try to pass me on the inside at 6...but he overcooked it and straightlined the corner right in front of me, with his back wheel hopping and chirping all over. Fortunately I noticed in time and was able to give him lots of space. He apologized later.

White & Pink 03 R6 SOAR 97 Red Sat & Sunday !!!! If u have any shots that would be cool !!! Best Regards Daryl

I found the absolute end of life for a set of tires on saturday.... Frankly I was amazed at how useless they were once they decided to go...

They were made in 2005, used racing SV for a while, put on the SXV 550 and raced in SOAR BOTT (by my brother) then I have used them on the bike for the last couple of years on and OFF the road (many many times of spin spin spin on dirt, mud and crushed stone...)

Well, Sat afternoon it was like a switch was turned.... Back came around going into 2 and then I had to pick it up and run off (as friend was just on my tail). Tried another session, 2 laps, holy fark... talk about being a dumbass, were totaly unusable lol.... Still some tread, but tires are DONE...

New tires woulda been more fun as that aprillia can really run hard on the infield there... just wish it had a 6th gear....

Thanks Paul and the rest of the organizers for a fantastic day yesterday! AND you guys brought out the awesome weather! I had a great time, and learned lots.

mma01, you probably mean the blue group (intermediate). :p

Hey Paul .... You get that clutch apart yet? :)

Thanks to everyone who came out. Good weather, good friends, good turnout. No drama and everyone behaved well. I saw some good improvement in many beginner group riders throughout the weekend as well. Met some new people and was able to put some faces to GTAM nicknames as well.

Thanks also to the GTAM crew who put this event together.......see you at the next one in Grand Bend!

How do you guys know Gtam members? I met a few people but I didn't know if they were members or not. I'm gonna try to make a username decal and put it on my track bike.

Ask? But I think most are friends irl anyway.

Some I've met even have a personalized plate with their screen name. A lot of people on this board are friends outside of here too

Unless I am mistaken, they did not send the wagon out for a single broken bike all day Saturday. EMS never moved either. That right there is a great track day!
