Not trying to argue. But go for an afternoon ride, and then wipe your jacket (which was clean) with a clean cloth. Same goes for you face. You'll be amazed how much crap you accumulate. No paranoia intended.

Absolutely, I've ridden long days and came home with dark rings around my sunglasses from all the road grime...but we're talking just general dirt that's floating everywhere, not a very specific small stream of exhaled air from a single source.

Is it theoretically possible you'd be riding behind someone who sneezes, blows snot and spray everywhere that subsequently escapes their helmet and just happens to beeline straight into your own helmet and then go up inside it to be breathed in...despite ambient winds and wind from the other persons and your own motorcycle and 2 helmets? Perhaps. But pretty sure we're in the extrmely unlikely category. With just normal breathing, infinitesimal.

Riders wearing half helmets with no buffs or anything and coughing or sneezing without making any effort to block such would have a higher risk I guess, but again, it would still have to be a "lucky shot" for that spray to make it directly from mouth to nose while riding with all the airflow situations going on.

And anyone with a cough or sneezing issue really should be self excluding from group riding this year until that's past.

That's not really applicable to motorcycle riding for a variety of reasons, mainly that it assumes the person at the front is coughing or sneezing, and that the resulting spray is unimpeded - IE, no helmet or buff or whatever to block it. It also doesn't take into consideration the wind movement around a motorcycle, ambient airflow direction, etc etc.

I guess you glossed over the part where I said I saw a similar simulation to the running one done with motorcycles. It was done (again) using motorcycles with the same software as the running one. The same software that F1 teams use to simulate airflow around their cars (actual wind tunnel time is restricted by the FIA) which is far a more complex task than analyzing the airflow around the cruisers they used in the model.

Missed it, but yeah, share when you find it. Hopefully it has all the relevant details, IE type of helmet worn, face coverings (buff vs no buff) etc.

Seriously? It was similar to the running one I posted with the same manikin-like models, only posed in a (cruiser) riding position. They didn't go into details of shorts vs. tights airPods vs. headphones in that simulation, so no, there was no Arai vs. Shoei vs. do-rag in the motorcycle one .

My post was just to try to give some perspective to people on this site who should really sell the expensive paperweight they have in the garage and buy a set of knitting needles instead.
Maybe you should sell your once a week toy and buy an actual brain for once.

You're actually so far up your own ass about this, your head is coming back out your neck. It's almost unbelievable how much of a brat you're being.

So.....the model assumes nobody on the motorcycles is wearing a helmet or any face covering?

That's my point - the answer to those questions play a very big part of how realistic this sort of simulation is versus just being unrealistic theory only applicable in places with no helmet laws I guess.

That's why I said if/when you find it please share it. Relax.

I was going to say the same thing. You take everything to the Nth degree.

Just want to know if this is a legitimate concern or yet another "theory" thing that someone posted online and everyone is running with as fact despite not having any actual details.

Excuse me for caring.

And I’m wondering? The gentleman riding with the blow up doll through city streets.
I wonder if he now has children like the ones in the cars around him as he proceeds to hump a sex doll while riding a motorcycle. I have a 12 year old daughter that’s just starting to understand what sex is. I’m not even sure how I could explain this to her. Um Calling it childish behaviour would only confuse the matter and be an insult to children everywhere.

@nikiter -- care to comment? It was you in the video after all..
Fun is fun, but sometimes civility needs to be thought about.

I thought the blow up doll was funny, much better than seeing those hanging nut sacks from lifted trucks, which for some reason is one of the few things on earth that actually bothers me.
I agree. But if you have a carload of kids,Ya,it's really hard to deal with.

my first thought was, what the hell are the parents explaining to the children who see that stuff as they drive by.

no stake in this game being a DINK but i feel like that would suck.
