Great Documentaries?

+1 on Planet Earth if your into that type of stuff.

I bought the set rom Wall-Mart and watched the whole thing in one night. Its like 7 or 8 discs, I couldn't stop. The action shots they get are un-real!

Zeitgeist also but heard the frist part on religion was all discredited. Still an interesting documentary though.

The first part of the documentary wasn't debunked, or at least most of it wasn't. Only if you subscribe to "TEH BIBLE TOLD ME DIFFERENT" as an argument can you say it was all debunked.

All the same, Zeitgeist has a number of problems and fallacies in it. The main one is the socialist, totalitarian utopia that they offer as the answer to society's ills in the second film. That would work, perhaps, if the human race had no greed, corruption or shifting morality. As it is, look no further than Russia as an example of what really happens when you give the state ultimate power without responsibility and ask it to dole out wealth equally.

Oh I know I just heard that part was discredited from another thread on this forum. I'm far from the "bible told me so crowd"

An yes the second film's answer to societies ill's is not realistic given human nature. "Power currupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely"
Sad but true.

This. And yeah, the conclusion addendum movies come to is sorta ****ed.

In the process of downloading everyone's suggestions, as well as other ones that I found. I'm planning to get through most of them & recommend some in return for some of these (I can't wait to see 'em)

Quick question, though: I'm using Vuze & I only rely on piratebay (so selection gets limited for some of them). Is there a better option? The only reason I use piratebay is 'cause I can read the comments to see if it's out of sync, it's fake, etc.

Thanks!

edit: I forgot to say that i couldn't find this one:
If you can find it, watch "The man with the 7 second memory"

How was the cove? Shark water I found really distressing and disturbing - am I going to end up in the same funk after watching the cove?

Deep Water ; you get to see actual footage of a mental breakdown in progress

Shackleton ; womanizing alcoholic become one of histories greatest heros saving everyone in his crew after antartic shipwreck

The Cove was better than most.
Being that most (political/awareness) documentaries I've seen tend to be overly sensational, I found Cove to be somewhat more measured. It outlines a crisis that needs to be resolved without 'overly' villaifying the antagonist.

its definitely worth seeing!
