GoPro HD Hero 2 - $219

Might be able to catch someone new, but as a rule none of the major chains will price match Amazon, or anything exclusively online for that matter.

there were a bunch of people on RFD iirc that were price matching these things when they were 199 on Amazon, in store. It's usually as long as the cheaper retailer has it in stock and it's not listed as a sale price then you are good.

I guess I stand corrected. This policy has changed since I was in that industry, it was standard practice to only match local competitors with a brick and mortar operation at that time. That's good news though. As mentioned above in this instance they still might argue that amazon (or this seller on Amazon) isn't an authorized Canadian dealer but it's worth a shot

if it was Amazon.com i'd say yea, not an authorized Canadian dealer, but since it's Amazon.ca I'd say it's fair game. Technically, it's being fulfilled by a dealer in quebec, but it's still in Canada.

You're emphasizing on the Canadian when authorized is the operative.

I'm not saying this is the case or that they won't match it.. no idea. But that clause is there to protect them in case buddy selling them on Amazon.CA is getting them in a dark alley and not from go-pro thus significantly increasing his margins..

Pretty sure GoPro is only available through authorized resellers anyway... not too many unauthorized ones around yet...

To our valued Amazon Customer,

Thank you for your patience as we clarify your order tracking information. We understand the frustration in the long wait for your order. We strive to provide our customers with competitive prices and apologize for being unable to provide the swift delivery service we pride ourselves with.

Rest assured; you will be receiving your item. Due to the extended wait for your package, we will be refunding you for all shipping charges.

Canada Post has informed us as to the excessive delay of order and tracking information. Due to technical difficulties, you order has been declined by Canada Post. As a result, your order has been returned to our warehouse. In order for you to receive your order, we will need to repackage and ship the item to you. This will result in an estimated delivery date of 7-14 business days in which you can expect to receive your item.

If you so choose, we can cancel your order and provide you with a full refund. We apologize sincerely for any inconvenience you may have encountered as a result.

Please Note: If you have received your order, we are pleased to be able to deliver as planned. Please reciprocate our superior customer service by providing us with positive feedback, e.g. a five star rating. We look forward to continue serving you.

Sincerely,

Alice B.

Customer Service Representative

And the fishiness begins! Good luck guys!

Earlier in the thread there was speculation whether the GoPro Hero 1 would show up in the box rather than the Hero 2 because the price was so low.

ah yes. Like I said tho, i'm not too worried, if it is the Hero 1 I'll be returning for a full refund for sure. Amazon's pretty good about that kind of stuff.

When did they say they shipped yours? who did you contact to get this response?
^ what he said. Did they send you this email after you contacted them?

Yea, someone on RFD linked to Amazon's policy and were definitely covered. I don't see why anyone would hesitate to buy from Amazon. The only thing that will happen is it will waste our time.

Also it looks like someone gave them 1/5 stars for this delay :D. I dont get why everyone is complaining about not getting a tracking number or the delay. Maybe 'Buy 'N Save' chose the cheapest possible method, like how USPS has first class international. If waiting 2 weeks means I save $100 then I'm happy; why are people so impatient?

it's not so much that I'm impatient, hell, I order crap from china on eBay all the time and wait 3-4 weeks. it's more that they are charging $25 to ship, when it really shouldn't cost that much for the slowboat from Quebec (or wherever these are warehoused). To me, $25 should be expedited, if not priority shipping.

When did they say they shipped yours? who did you contact to get this response?

That email was posted to RFD by a couple people who had contacted Buy N Save multiple times to get tracking info. There are some people on RFD who ordered theirs as early as July 5th who still have not received. I did not purchase one

nothing so far. talked to Amazon customer support last night, at least we have 60 days from the date of purchase to file a claim with them.
I was going to contact amazon as well.. did they say anything about the seller?
Sent the seller an email over the weekend asking about the refund/re-shipping, no reply yet.
