Getting old sucks...

Since buying a legpress I’ve avoided squats to save my knees/back but yesterday I just had a hankering to put heavy things on my shoulders. I did a 10x10 century set and finished off with two sets of walking lunges. Lil sore today.

Reading this I see most complain about aches & pains of 'maturing'.
Turned 70 last birthday, body, eye sight are all fine, no aches or pain, still no need for glasses.
No need for or have had any surgeries.
What I find the hardest, & yes this may sound shallow, but I always felt that I was defined by my job. Worked 48 years.
I have been slowly losing my license. I drove for many of those 48 years, had a ABM 'Z' endorsement, & '1203' certification.
I am now down to GM. Seems I am losing my identity.
But I guess in the grand scheme of things I'm lucky.
Sad, feeling sorry for myself rant over. Carry on as if normal.

At 70 you are doing fine. Usually people need reading glasses at your age.
Have you had a hearing test? It creeps up on you and you ride mcycle.
Risks are prostate/urination issues coming up
Make sure you do the bowel cancer screening too.
It's the unknowns that can catch you.
Congrats on 3 score and 10 🍾

It dawned on me recently that I’ve become the person I frowned upon during my 20s. I would see grey haired old dudes driving their cool cars and motorcycles slowly or kept in their garage to polish them more than operating them.

I took the Spitfire down the Niagara Parkway yesterday and had those young ones checking it out and wondered……..

The hair is grey but, I still have full coverage! Prescription Raybans provide the illusion of not needing them to see clearly beyond 30 feet. I hate contacts.

Try to keep regularly active to fend off Father Time. I’m having a great life and if it ends today, I’ll have no regrets. Other than the desire to keep enjoying the journey for as long as our maker allows.

Had a few drinks and a fire last night. Jumped out of bed for a bike ride (peddles) this morning and sipping a coffee on the deck. Still gotta work but, it’s Friday. Might have to spend some time in the garage polishing the Buell and Triumph. Hear there is rain in the forecast this weekend!

Cheers!

Slept on a crap old mattress last night where I could feel the springs poking up to the surface.

I can barely move this morning and can’t feel the top of my right back muscles.

sweet baby Jesus this is painful.

Wait till you start getting pains in your shoulders and hips that you can’t just move and make it stop 👍

54 here.
Last Friday, my son and I went skateboarding.
This is the night before starting a two week vacation.
I am a fairly competent boarder, been doing it for forty odd years.
Got bodied hard. Cracked a few ribs.
The wife is taking it out on me by making me laugh.
If you have ever broken or cracked ribs, you know that is agony.
Near beer helps a bit.

Cripes... Never even started for me. this year I have 15 minutes on my motorcycle so far.
By the time I'm done with projects around the property, all I want to do is sit in the basement and enjoy the A/C.
When you have no friends, no family and no kids you're stuck doing everything by yourself. 99% of the time I prefer it this way, but that other 1% I wish I had some help... LOL

If you need a riding buddy, we are all here for that.

Well I have friends, family, kids, and projects….

While it’s tough, it’s a decision that needs to be made consciously.

Wife ain’t happy but I try and balance not too many rides, and miss some time with the kids but….🤷🏻‍♂️

New business idea for you MP: rent-a-family.

Nah, Not a riding issue, it's a too much other things to do issue. Not complaining, I knew this was going to be the case when buying property.
