Getting old sucks...

The circle of life. I had my rotting tree cut down and saved $1,000 by letting them leave the wood. My neighbour wanted the wood and since he was busy I split it for him and threw it over the fence.
He didn't have to but he put some $20's in an envelope and put them in my mail slot. I took them to Costco and bought the seat.

It rolls easier than the steno chair and is more comfy.

Whenever you buy something on wheels check the thing out under load. Crappy castors are a PITA and you're always fighting them.
That would be crappy casters.

This is a castor in Canada. They don't roll very well.

Should have done more than just "peak". If you watched to the end they explain how the telemeres were actually lengthened - which nearly akin to anti-aging.
I didn't watch any of it, I just checked some reviews. I doubt the integrity of that claim, though. Not you, the producers of the show. They've been trying to find a way to repair telomeres for a long time. As far as I know, the closet they came is to supplement with NAD+. I doubt this short study (with an N of one) was able to do so in such a short period of time.

Those answers are in the film, which you didn't watch. So yeah......

Did a couple hundred kliks today with no discomfort. Any ride over 100k since last fall has left me with a very numb throttle hand that lasts about 3 days.
I bought a pair of Grip Puppies and a Throttle Rocker.Tada!
Oh, and getting old sucks!

I use a simple throttle lock, like it way more than the rockers. Arthritis is having it way with my hands, Grip puppies arrived today, hope they help.

Small accommodations for getting older I guess. I’m sure someday I’ll need a 3rd wheel.

I'm quite happy with where i am. And I'm very happy that i chose the third wheel, it didn't choose me.
I still love the freedom of 2 wheels on my trials bikes.

Here’s hoping I get that choice before it’s made for me!

I also fear that my first Harley gets purchased out of need. Maybe I should go get that PanAm I’ve been waiting for Harley to gift me.

Buddy at work (early 60s) spent an hour telling me his adventures with an enlarged prostate recently.

Holy hell…catheters, blockages where he couldn’t pee for days, cameras up the…., operations, bleeding, second operation to remove blood clots…

The only thing I can say is I’m glad he’s alive. Horrifying.

Get those prostates checked!

Yeah - apparently 80% of men over 80 will have an enlarged prostate needing treatment.
I'll let you know how my operation works out at the end of month.

Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP)

A thin tool with a light, called a scope, is inserted into the urethra. The surgeon removes all but the outer part of the prostate. TURP often relieves symptoms quickly.
Two days in hosp - two weeks recovery ....NOT major surgery.
I discussed some other alternatives but they all came with a "might have to be done again in 5 years" where TURP is lifetime.

Catheters are not really an issue tho I'm a bit tired of mine - going on 9 months now post accident. ( gets changed monthly and no does not hurt )
My wag doctor calls it the penis extender
easy to whip out of riding pants and turn the valve and it shuts off instead of dribbling.....sigh.

There are decent drugs too. Duodart was very effective for me, better than Tamolsulin alone

Spent about 4 hours yesterday moving interlock. Gave my hands, legs and back quite the workout. Moving at turtle speed this morning.

I know how that feels. I took down 8 trees on Saturday to extend the yard a bit on one side. Took a full day to recover.

Damn left behind by history again...I just discovered super thin anklets for my flat feet and new runners....

Apparently, ankle socks are the new sign that you're old, and millennials are done

Gen Z is officially sending them the way of the skinny jean and the side part

the revolt has started
"You'll get my ankle socks over my dead body. In fact, bury me in ankle socks," author and tech leader Emily Freeman wrote on X.

"Hey Gen Zers, you'll have to pry my ankle socks from my cold geriatric millennial feet," wrote a freelance writer.

Thursday: Track day at CTMP RDT. Did OK. 6 sessions, skipped the last one as usual (late afternoon is prime time for making mistakes).

Friday: Knackered. Went for a short street ride to coffee shop, walked about 3 km ... slept the rest of the day.

Today: Knackered. Mowed the back lawn. Rode to Hockley ... slept the rest of the day.

Retirement has led to more time sleeping...

Went to a bday party tonight…the elders (us in our 40s) drank more, danced more, and stayed later than the old people and the young people….

It’s not so bad….yet.
