federal election - who are you voting for

How wonderful that people are looking forward to more taxation..... barf...

Whats gross is your desire to double down on the most corrupt government in Canadian history. Taxation returned to citizens in services is a good thing. Taxation funned into breaks for multi-national companies while services are being cut is not. My priorities lie in supporting local and community and not helping another company record record profits while cutting worker benefits and moving production out of country.

Well wrote regardless of ones flag colour.

Very well said. That the mouth breathers of the world automatically believe "lower taxes" = "good government" ... barf

I can wait for the Provincial Cons to get back into power in Ontario. I want the Fall Wild Turkey season to start the day before Thanksgiving instead of the day after Thanksgiving. D@mn Liberals!

That's an oxymoron. Excess Taxation of companies do not instill growth of businesses within a country. It instill migration to other countries.

We have some of the lowest corporate taxes and have under many stripes of government. Taking tax money from services intended for citizens and giving it to companies already operating under low corporate tax is my issue. Companies aren't moving because of taxation they are moving because of free trade. Why pay a labour force a living wage in Canada when you can pay half that in Mexico?

Instilling business growth only benefits Canadians if that growth is spent on Canadian labour and paying Canadian taxes.

Except the countries our jobs are all moving to have higher corporate tax rates than we do. In fact most countries with a strong manufacturing sector have higher taxes than we do.

BTW, supply side economics has been proven NOT to actually work.

Higher tax rate for companies and lower wages for employees.......

We can't have high tax rates for business and higher cost of business with high wages. It would be nice. Just doesn't fly.

There is a balance for sure. Removing tariffs with free trade forces the Canadian labour market to compete against 3rd world costs. The government through free trade has made it cheaper for business to be done elsewhere

Also Lets not forget that many companies that are reporting great profits are also working to reduce wages and benefits. There is no tie in to profit or loss.

Justin says that I'm a fat cat and he's not.

Maybe he's gonna give out lip grants for Porsches?
I can't even afford a Beemer.

Agreed. And that becomes the dividing point. Just what is an appropriate balance? I don't think we will ever have a consensus on what is best.

Thus why we will see changes back and forth from Conservative to social leaning governments. It just depends on what society wants at the time.

The Conservatives are a social leaning government. We're way left of our southern neighbours, in spite of what may have been said. Right now though, the Liberals seem to be left of the NDP, which is confusing. Well not really considering Trudeau's roots, and the stranglehold he has on the party. But hey what do I know.

Maybe it's time the NDP and Liberals joined forced like the PC and C's did and make a run at it.

Mulcair has good leadership qualities but, I think he is a bit hand cuffed with the political party.

I'm not making sense, I know.

No, I agree, he's in the same place that Rae was. Now Rae is a Liberal.
Liberals are handcuffed by their Leadership in my opinion.
If people are expecting Justin to be more open and allow more discussion from the backbenches than Harper,
they're going to be in for a real big surprise; He's been promising everything to everyone as well,
so you'll need to wait until after the election to see if he's really your buddy or not.

Our political system demands potential leaders peddle promises in the buckshot approach. Can't tell it like it is. People don't want the medicine. It's the best system in the world. A benevolent dictator might do wonders. But they generally don't. That's why they're not the best system in the world.
