Conservative but Harper has creeped me out since day 1. Can't do this again. Need to reform system, but first need to vote out Conservatives. Sad but true.

Still torn on what to do Monday.

Picking 1 of 3 turds is hardly gonna "reform the system"

That's one lofty goal that won't happen via 'democratic election'.

I know picking who I don't want goes against an idea of a choice, preventative rather than proactive. Instead of voting who I want I am actively voting against a party.

It certainly is a strategy.

First past the post has got to go. I can't see any chance of that happening if PC wins again. That's a stepping stone to hopefully getting some change.

Only the Conservatives love the system as it is (with the exception of the courts always ruling against them). The other parties have all pledged to reform the electoral system and the senate, to reduce the power of the PMO, to add oversight where it has been removed, to reinstate the proper census so we know what the F* is going on. Basically, to undo all the damage the Cons have wreaked on the country.

Politicians and their 'oversight'. Every time I hear that, I know they just wanna organize more committees and hire more friends to chew up budgets. With the rest I mostly agree, except your last sentence is sensationalist doom & gloom.

Good read. but if someone is still ignoring that Harper is a crazy man, they wont change their mind because either they live in their own head or are willingly ignorant. Not sure which ones worse.

“There are three classes of people: Those who see. Those who see when they are shown. Those who do not see.”

~ Leonardo da Vinci

We're also bottled up in our own little circles, that are getting tighter and tighter.
Google likes to narrow things down for you and give you choices, but as the types of things that you click on become known,
those choices become smaller and smaller. Everyone's search becomes highly personalized, or putting it another way censored.

Do not forget to apply this profound rational introspectively.

"Democracy be damned!" If Harper was an honest man, this would be his campaign slogan. He's done enough to make me feel uncomfortable with the direction of governance in this country, hopefully the alternatives will actually follow through with those promises. Harper had my vote 3 elections in a row, but I started to see exactly what Baggsy is talking about above about 2 years ago, and I started looking outside my circle, outside my usual sources... to read them now.. all I can say, is I feel duped.

I wish it were sensationalist doom and gloom, but I and many others smarter than me believe in the fundamental truth of that claim, as devastating as it is.

I won't vote for harper, which leaves me with liberal, ndp, green, independant and i'm not sure there's a libertarian option. the liberals seem to be prettier versions of harper seeing as their stance on bill c51, c24 and tpp have either been the same or noncommittal (which means i doubt they would change it to protect us). the first past the post means voting for whom I think will do the best job may not stop a conservative member from getting in, how ever the other person who is likely to get in may not do the job well. it becomes a crapshoot. I'm not worried about welfare as much as corporate welfare.

So the provincial liberals have announced our electrical bills will be up 35-40% in the next three years. Thanks provincial liberals. And the idiot that was in charge of revamping hydro one, is now an energy advisor to Justin. Who wants to run a deficit and spend us out of our recession?

Expense of running the atomic centers is considered the reason, and enormous payouts to executives. and payback for the gas plant thing. I just finished paying my million dollar share of the former Ontario Hydro.

And hydro one advertises at the Rogers Center?? like I'm going to buy my electricity anywhere else?? That's like having an ad agency paid by public coffers to promote sunshine, get your sunlight over here folks! idiots

Would you rather the province continue to subsidize electricity?

Totally mismanaged. It is a funny one from the Harper side. He was against us shutting down the coal plants, but in the current election he highlighted how HE got rid of most of the coal burning in Canada. Part of the rate increase is that we have in fact got rid of coal for more "environmentally friendly" options, so does he still take credit for it?

Don't get me wrong, this is an Ontario Liberal mess-up, I just find it amusing the pick and choose what to take credit for.

It would be nice if our rates were comparable to the price Hydro sells it to south of the border and in turn those customers have lower rates than us.

Reminds me of our oil

I understand it's only sold when there's excess supply here. It's worthless to us at that point.

We have some crazy excess since we guaranteed a kilowatt rate for farmers with solar grid and windmills, and sell for much less than we pay farmers. I'm ok with not paying for subsidized electricity. I'm not ok with sponsoring Terry Maughlin's Canada Cup sailing program. What nobody saw the HydroOne yacht?? marketing at its finest..... thankyou Liberals.
