federal election - who are you voting for

You guys have gone CooCoo with coco puffs. Stop smoking that ganja Trudeau is giving you, it's messing up your brains.

Facism : a. A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, a capitalist economy subject to stringent governmental controls, violent suppression of the opposition, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.

This describes the Harper government pretty closely. Harper has centralized the power so every single communication has to run through him. The MPs you vote for are not allowed to discuss things outside the specific talking points he has provided and the MPs running were told to avoid all debates. The G20 was a great example of violent suppression and the last months of the conservative campaign has been based on nationalism and racism to try and wedge voters with fear. Not to mention C51 which can classify anyone who disagrees with the government as a terrorist. Yep that is pretty damn close to Facism.

Powerful quote from Trudeau "we don't need to convince them to leave the Conservative party, we just need to show them how Stephen Harper's party has left them"

This is the same Trudeua who voted hand in hand with Harper on C-51 and backed his TPP secret deal right?

What a snake. He is worse than Harper!

At least Harper is upfront about what and who he is. Not like the two faced Trudea who backs Harpers totaletarian policies and then when its time to campaign, plays the nice libereterian guy who cares about our rights!

Screw him!

I strongly dislike Harper but i still have more respect for him for at least being up front and direct about who he is and what he wants. Unlike the two faced charlatan Trudeau!

Because Harper didnt pass C-51 and so stealing our right to privacy? Because Harper didnt pass C-24 and creating second class Canadians? Because he didnt pass the Anti-terror law in 2013 and essentially taking away your right to a fair trial? Because he is no pro Keystone pipeline? Because hi is not pushing for a secret TPP?

No youre right, we've gone coocoo with coco puff. Sound argument indeed ;)

Adolf Hitler could have spewed that statement. A true statement is a true statement despite who says it.

Should the media be filtering out stupid comments that a candidate for Prime Minister made?

I think you meant to say 'regardless' of who says it not 'despite'.

And your comments was completely unrelated to mine. I'm not sure what you were trying to say or whether you were even trying to reply to my comment or someone else's.

Regardless, Trudeau is a two-faced opportunist who changes his position depending on which direction the elction wilnd is blowing and stands for nothing.

Harper is the only one who has to Pre-approve the attendees at his campaign stops.

He literally hand-picks those who will attend his stops to make sure there is no opposition. That is very telling of how dictatorial he is and how he will face the opposing views when he is in power.

That and all the bills he passed to kill our freedom. He is trying to criminalizing any criticism of the state of Israel! Canadians will not be allowed to have opinions about a government if Harper says so!!

He has no regards for freedom of speech or any other kinds of freedom as bill C-51 proved.

Trudeau is just spouting sound bites he has been told to utter. He's a celebrity figurehead with no brains unlike Ignatieff who was a celebrity figurehead with some brains (but dumb ideas). I hate Harper but I couldn't stand a reality TV show prime minister either.

Yes, very interesting. Very interesting indeed. NDP, final answer.

My take on the folks saying the current government is taking away our rights and freedoms is, we have a charter to protect us.

It sucks that it will have to be challenged in court and that means it's very possible and likely an innocent person is going to have to go through this.

On the flip side, if our freedoms and rights are respected and the laws help protect us, I'm good with it.

My only concern when it comes to federal government is wasted tax dollars and poor governance.

I'd like to see better benefits to military personal. If more politicians served, I'd bet you'd see improvements in this area.

And frankly, the opposing parties have only cried about the problem and not actually outlined a plan for change. It's easy to say they need more. But what do they plan to do about it and how is it going to get funded.

Spot on. What personally blows me away is talking to people who have no concept of what Harper has actually done, yet intend to vote Conservative based on principals the party no longer adheres to. Prime example; fiscal responsibility.. The most common reasoning I hear when talking to a conservative voter (mainly older relatives) ...Reality, $160-billion in new debt since 2009. In fact Harper is responsible for a full one-quarter of all the total outstanding federal debt created since Confederation.. This after inheriting a surplus

I'm also loving the latest NDP production..

2.4 million people estimated to have voted in the advanced polls. I dont know how they compare but these are good numbers

We'll all have egg on our faces when, many years down the road, we find out all these party leaders are puppets. Hopefully I'll be dead by then.
