Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Buy everybody long underwear and call it a day.
This is the reason girls are getting a bunk bed. Once MIL leaves us (by moving or passing) there’s an extra bedroom with no effort.

Cheaper than 400k renovation.

@Mad Mike i did that multiple times and I’d say the vast majority of facelift upgrades in our area are nothing more than just the front of the house.

The upgrade stops at the sides of the house and is not continuous.

Decisions decisions…

Row on left was rejected inside…look way different outside in the sun.

I think you will end up with the same or similar colour you have now... :p
You are probably right…I want the red but wife thinks it doesn’t match the character of the hood…

But I will have a red door at one point in my life.

red with white trim….the pride of Poland

Found JH siding for 1k cheaper at another place than LOWES.

I’ll price out the trim also.

Now all I get is photos of stone…every effing colour combo under the sun.

Ducati = Red and white.
Unfortunately I’m not a baller like some on here.

Need to make do with what I’ve got. I’ll just paint the X…although I wouldn’t mind changing my colour scheme to the sand colours….but that requires a new tank.

Just finished running around like a madman trying to figure out why my bedroom circuit was dead.
Went down to the panel and tripped and reset the breaker that I thought was it, nothing.
Got everyone offline. Went down and tripped each and every circuit on the panel, nothing.
Crap!
Finally, my kid tells me that he was using the blow dryer in the bathroom that is also out and it flipped something and went off.
He tripped a GFI plug, and didn't reset it. It took out everything downstream on the circuit. Once reset, everything works again.

Replaced some some lights in the kids play room/workout room. It had one boob light (that ate two bulbs a year) and two CFL fixtures. One of the cfl bulbs burned out so it was time the throw everything out. Wanted to find 2700k but that was almost impossible without also having stupid tricks based on the light switch. Turn on/off twice to change colour temp or activate a nightlight. Boo. No way three fixtures will stay synched so not interested in any of those. Found some with a physical colour temp switch but sadly 3000k is their low point. 28 watts each so they are reasonably bright though. Wife is happy. As expected, the last time they painted the ceiling, they were too lazy to drop the lights.

Need to replace a bunch more boob lights in the basement. Led bulbs dont last long in them. We'll see how these hold up before I buy more.

Our last house was wired with the porch light and living room down stream from the GFI in a powder room . Trip the GFI and loose large part of the house . I guess it was code at the time and saved the tract builder $9.00 on a return wire . I’d never let a house get wired like that if I was building new today .

I’m leaning toward the brick, and wife is leaning toward the stone on an accent wall.

I feel your pain. LED potlights outdoors are all 4000k and I can't find 4000k LED bulbs to put in the carriage lights to match. Only spot I've seen online are Amazon and reviews say they get really hot so I can't use them in a enclosed carriage light.

Last weekend I added two more potlights to the deck and the epoxy job in the garage is now 2/3 done.

You don't live on Parkside or in Kentucky.

If the whole house exterior is getting clad the options are unlimited. If your wife is anything like mine, drop her off at a building centre with a sleeping bag and cooler of food. She can call you in a few days to pick her up once she's made up her mind, subject to adjustments.

If you're keeping any of the existing brick, my "Colour matching" daughter determined Margaux Beige from Permacon was where it's at. Four inch concrete fake stone.

My daughter's bathroom colour is a shade of white that harmonized with the neighbour's aluminum siding at 9:00 AM with the sun shining on it.

"Quick, it's 9:00AM and the sun is shining. Let's all use the bathroom so we can appreciate its true beauty."
