Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Nedco has way better prices. They deal with retail customers, no? You have to speak the language and know what you want.

We have decided to redo a guest bath , face lift , the tub is fine and can stay , the vanity top is really dated , I’m making a corian top with an undermount sink and putting in a dual flush comfort height crapper. Ugly mirror and lights will go .

Let's patent it. We can have it Bluetooth connected to a front doormat that is connected to a camera in the foyer and a pressure switch in the floor of the washroom.

As someone walks into the home their hight, torso to leg proportion, weight and facial recognition is taken. Then anytime that person walks into the washroom the toilet will raise or lower automatically to the ideal comfortable position. If people like they can adjust it manually and save their settings. We will be billionaires.

Okay I'm in we should probably make this thing kind of leak proof as well

If I was designing a bathroom from scratch I’d install a men’s urinal . 90% of my trips are for a tinkle . I have yet to see one in residential use , but why not

Friends bought a house that had a detached office across a breezeway. Office had a sink and urinal. Extra height and no chunks allowed plumbing connection without a pump. They are turning that into a gym and the wife wants a toilet. Conversion will be expensive.

Does a urinal use a lot less water than small flush on dual flush toilet? What is the upside? Dont need to remember to put seat down?

Cleaner than standing to pee at a toilet. Probably uses less water

Marble floors and misguided urine doesn't work well. Marble is porous and there's no way of getting rid of the stains. I imagine a urinal is better than a crapper, especially if you get a urinal with a fly painted on the inside. Having a target apparently helps.

When I was 8, my parents bought this new house and I thought it was so cool they had a urinal in their washroom, but I wondered why it had a built-in fountain.

True Bidet Story,
I'm working at the Habitat for Humanity Restore and two old gals are looking at a bidet. One says to the other "What's it for?" The other older woman replies "it's for washing your bits and bites"

When I was studying architecture at Humber someone came across a specification stating women's urinals to be installed. We never figured that one out.

They exist, I just dont know of any installed in canada. The design pictured seems ridiculous as they'd have to drop trou to their ankles like a small child. If made more like a bomb drop, they could be less exposed.

I've mentioned here before how decades ago in Europe we somewhere and there was a huge line for the "womens". A little old lady came in beside me hitched up her skirt and got it done.

Not something do the house…but in the house counts right?

Grapefrucello and Limoncello! Finally found some time.
No cooktop ventilation? How do you find that works?
We have a 30 year old downdraft Jennair range. Thing will not die. Eventually we will have to replace it. I've considered doing without ventilation but concerned for obvious reasons. It's in an island.
