We’ve got a bunch of Poison Ivy up in Wasaga. Neighbour doesn’t do anything with his yard as it’s vacant land so it grows and spreads.
He got upset that I called the township on him as I couldn’t control his ivy from my property.
My only response was ‘been here 20 years and never seen you in my life. How was I supposed to know who to call?’
We’re cool now as he understood once I explained. ‘Now I’ll know when to find you to tell you and fix it yourself instead of having the town come out again.’
My brother has a vacant lot behind their rental that has poison ivy. He just sprays about 10' in from the property line to keep it from spreading to him.
At least you can do yardwork without getting poison ivy. Seems no matter how much I cover up I still get it. UN-fun fact: when poison ivy leaves rot and turn into dust it still affects skin......badly.
I built a house in Holland Landing years ago -- kinda my dream place at the time. Poison ivy was in the area, about 1/2 acre of my back yard was wooded. I was getting staying clear of the infected area and we had a pro come in to exterminate the plants. Didn't help, I think I kept getting it off the fur from my dog.
After 2 severe seasons with severe bouts I had to sell the house.

We used to mix up about 90 gallons of roundup a year to spot spray poison ivy abound the house and local campground. It worked. Not foolproof as some kids didnt know better and played in the dead ivy.
If you get it really badly and its weeping, BFI powder is the magic ticket. Cant buy it anymore though. Stings like hell but dries it up and scabs it over.
My wife turns into a balloon if she gets near poison ivy. Lucky it doesn't effect me at all I don't think the kids react either. We have a bit here in the yard but not much. Everytime we go camping she ends up with it from the dog or the kids probably and is miserable for the next week.

Acetone is absorbed through the skin and attacks the kidneys , lot of fiberglass guys that didn’t follow safety rules have/had kidney issues . One or two ivy treatments may not hurt , but it’s a really bad idea if there are open sores
Mine works just fine if you remove the filter. It has a built-in bypass when the filter's removed. I was pretty pumped when I found that as the filters were needing to be replaced every few weeks.

When we were visiting our home under construction a local came by and pointed out the poison ivy and said it grows 3ft high at his place and spraying didn't work. I thought he was exaggerating but sure enough it's growing tall and there's even vines going up trees. I've cut much of it out and the grass seed from the hydroseed that washed into the surrounding trees when it downpoured is now growing and taking out some of the ivy ($2500 not well spent because of mother nature but there's the bright side). I still plan to get a bulk supply of Roundup and spray it back so it's 50ft or so into the trees.
I was told a poison ivy cure for temp relief. Hot water. Run hot water over your skin on the affected area (as hot as you can stand it) and it'll keep the itch away for hours and help dry it out faster.
It itches like crazy and burns a bit. I was cleaning some out of a field and stopped to take a leak. I though I had been wearing gloves the whole time, but I must have gotten some on my hands at some point.
Watson’s pharmacy in Port Hope started making their own poison ivy cream and the locals raved about it so yesterday I gave it a try. Spots that normally would be itchy for at least the next 5-10days are already no longer itchy and almost completely dried up. Well worth the purchase if you’re ever in the area. Watson’s retired and it’s now a Pharmasave btw (ask for it at the pharmacy counter).
Yeah I've pretty much shelfed, and racked most of the space in the garage except this one spot where I think I can make something to fill this unused space.

That protects the garage as motorcycle space. Otherwise pesky cages use up all the space. More storage and more room for bikes, sounds like that is only winning to me.
