I think the real issue here is not about guns, it is about the users of these weapons.
I often wonder: why are all these gangbangers such bad shots? I mean, if they could shoot straight and actually get their intended target alone, would anyone shed a tear? Traumatic to those witnesses perhaps, but there would be no more "innocent bystanders". I doubt any regular person would shed a tear if the headline said "gang member shoots another gang member, Nobody else hurt". We would all take offense at the brazen daylight attack, but likely all settle with "its a self-solving problem".
Why aren't they practising their shots, instead of posing with their 'gat' sideways?

Anger only breeds anger. Put the emotions away, and bring that energy to better use. Such comments and insults may in fact spark more fire in this gang war, a public one which multiple news sources say is about "respect" and notariety. Disrespecting them won't make them change their ways (not that we should be nice to them....).
To answer his rhetoric of "why do we have to be brave to come downtown; why should it take guts to sit on a hard chair at an easy-to-wipe table in a lousy little food court; why must we worry when all we want to do is to buy a pair of shoes, get a bite to eat and go home again". We don't have to be brave, we don't have to worry, and it takes no guts at all to do these things which we do every day. By this thinking and the numbers, we should therefore all be commended as heroes for crossing the street, as pedestrian fatalities are a much more common occurrence than shootings. But we aren't, because it is not a concern.
For those who are worried, just know this: sht happens. It might be to you, it might be to someone else. It stinks, but you can't let it run your life. Accept it? Heck no. Learn and grow from it. After all, sht makes the best fertilizer. Your choice if you grow afraid, or strong.

it's a logical falicy to think that getting rid of gun control would stop gang hits in public, like they never happen in california, texas, florida or other places in the united states.

I know that it's satire but I once read a piece by a tactical officer, who had made a study of such incidents that included police, and he said that the majority of them took place at distances under 30 feet, involved both parties emptying the magazines of their weapons, and rarely resulted in injury.

**** happens when you're trying to fire a handgun at close range at a person when they're shooting back. It's not like in the movies..
No kidding. In the movies, the guy with a 9mm pistol shoots the guy in the eye, with a single bullet, while diving over a car. In reality he takes cover behind the car and empties his mag into the centre of mass, hoping to hit something vital.
Some police departments in the US started carrying Marlin Camp Carbines a couple of decades back, instead of shotguns as their cruiser weapon. It was because they found if they were out of pistol range then they were out of shotgun range, too, and needed an intermediate range weapon.

I believe it's all legal 'magazines' are limited to 10 rounds (you can have one additional round in the chamber)... and I agree that the limit should be lowered, because it's impossible to carry more than one magazine.
when playing paint ball i've had people miss me with multiple shots at what seems (to me) like point blank range.. 10-15 feet...
