The 790 isn't really a hooligan bike though. They don't market towards that either. The 690 SMCR and 690 Duke are much more in that class. The 790/890 is a very stable naked bike. Their marketing dept was calling it "The Scalpel" and all the emphasis was on things like canyon carving. After riding it for as long as I have (44,000km) and compared to many other bikes, it has too much handling competancy to be called just a hooligan bike.Bizarre to me buying a hooligan bike for the street and wanting all these electronic goodies. Cruise control I understand would be nice, but a $10 throttle rocker does the job, maybe I'm old fashioned or just old lol.
If anything, the older MT/FZ-09's deserves the hooligan title much more with the completely inadequate suspension setup and binary throttle. If you don't like wheelies or going fast in a straight line, there's not much else to write home about.
