Ducati 1199 Panigale

I love racing....................................street racing! lol

Whatever, Paul Walker. Better put two 15lb bottles in that Eclipse! You never know when you'll need to run nitrous, err.. NOSSSS, for 400km down the 401.

:lmao: i crack me up.

No foot pegs? So no way of 2-upping?!
Considering it has the tail that looks like it came straight off the RSV4 it likely has the same type of optional passenger seat as well (take a look at the RSV4 and you won't see any passenger pegs).

The tail and lights are very unique. Other than its small size I see no other similarities to the RSV.

Ummmm technology and design that is very rarely seen outside of competition bikes like MotoGP or high end low production bikes costing $50,000+. Never mind on a standard street bike ....Nothing totally amazing about it, sooner or later lots of bikes will be using this design...Its simple evolution of technology, things that were too expensive to manufacture for a street bike in the past, are now standard equipment...

FYI... Ducati tested their new moto gp bike today... with a traditional frame instead of the no frame disaster that they've been running for a while.

I didnt say it was a better design, just rare and generally only found on high end motorcycles....In most cases its a heavier frame....Manufactures try things out and go back to basics all the time....Kawi dropped under tail exhausts after 4 years of production and went back to traditional style...

Wasnt the old MotoGP frame (or whatever little of a frame there was on it) on the Duc made from carbon fiber?

What little "Frame" there was on the bike was indeed carbon fiber.
After reading tons of discussions on why the bike wasn't doing better, I think it was a combination of bike and rider. The new technology (frameless) wasn't providing the same feedback which the rider was used to. I wonder if somebody actually started riding on bikes of similar construction in their youth (and progressed up the ranks eventually ending up in MotoGP) would be amazing on it. They would understand the feedback the bike is giving.
I kind of liken it to languages - if you grow up speaking English all your life, and suddenly zip off to China with only a very basic knowledge of Cantonese you'd be lost too. I'm sure the bike is providing feedback, but the rider's just don't get it, as they're used to a twin spar frame.

So, Ducati attempted to slap some twin spars on the bike for Rossi - the bike wasn't designed to use them, so of course it's not going to behave the same. Sure, the bike (referencing above language comments above) may be speaking English now, but it's with a mouthful of mush and an outrageously strong Scottish accent...
