According to MCN:

"The new Ducati 1199 Pangiale superbike boasts 195bhp and 176kg weight in road trim – WET.

These are staggering figures from a 1200cc twin and go a long way toward justifying Ducati's ditching of traditional belts on the engine and steel trellis on the chassis.

The all-new engine features the most radically oversquare engine yet (KTM RC8-R: 105mm, Panigale: 112mm), gear/chain-driven cams, and the chassis is an aluminium front monocoque.

The spec leak comes from an American Ducati dealership, reported by HFL"

Based on those numbers, the new Ducati 1199 Panigale will have more HP than the S1000rr, most torque and lightest of all literbikes?

Official release is expected to be in November when they have the EICMA show in Milan on Nov. 10-13.

yup, what he said ^
panigale..........sounds FN gay.
Its worse than naming your son Bartholomew

too bad it's $40,000

too bad it's $40,000
If you're getting that from the price list posted, re-read it.

I see a horizontal shock and no under seat exhaust (although I really don't see ANY exhaust so that doesn't mean much but it'd be nice not to roast your butt).

I was just talking to a guy at GP Bikes yesterday about this bike. He had just come back from a trade show in South Beach and said it was one sweet ride! :)

I'm really excited to see the street version, I love v-twin superbikes...

But their claim of making more horsepower than the BMW is bogus, and that chart is nonsense. The 195hp listed is a generous peak hp number at the flywheel, if its at all representative of reality.

Regardless, it'll be a hot ticket.

tsk, tsk. No ABS. This one is off my list. If they can fit traction control. Surely they could fit race ABS.

but it would weigh more and cost more.

As far as that list goes I am not sure how accurate it is. It has the ZX10 at 197 hp.. ya ok.

If BMW could do it for "$13950", surely Ducati could figure something out. With todays tech, weight gain should be marginal.

.
Depends on what you mean by marginal... if you mean like 10lbs then ya I agree marginal weight can be added.

But on a racebike 10lbs is alot.

whast european spec?

The North American 2011 ZX-10R is heavily de-tuned for emissions and noise requirements. There's already a few places in the US doing ECU reflashes to make them essentially the same as the European bikes. Owners are seeing 13-14hp gains. Low 170s to mid 180s at the wheel in otherwise-stock trim.

It looks like a serious riot. But... having ridden a RSV4, it would have to work really, really hard to have the manners and character of that bike. I don't care how fast it is, on the street everything I own is too fast anyways.

I was told by the guy at GP bikes that this bike is going to be equipped with ABC brakes that could be turned off when wanted. He'd just seen it at the South Beach trade show.
