Does this happen to any one else on gtam?

I guess your not familiar with HTA 172.

Oh please, lane splitting, scratching your ***, riding with one hand, accidental wheelies (downshift from 3rd to 2nd at a high rev, see what happens), stretching, hell, look at another driver qualifies under HTA172 -_-

That **** is so loosely defined.

and was designed as a pure media/cash grab. The laws here are a joke. Things like "Street racing" for 50 over even if you're alone. Who are you racing? Your other personality?

last season i even had a guy intentionally cut me off because his girl was miring my bike. he starts talking smack at a red light, i tell him to fly a kite..... and he then gets out wielding a tire iron. as much as i wanted to hurt him i drove off instead.

you're right i shouldn't take these idiots so personally, i just get upset because its my *** thats going to slide across pavement and hit a light post if **** goes south. i usually ride a bit aggressively until i'm in between traffic packs. of traffics light i'll stay in the left and cruise a bit over the limit/traffic.

I remember reading 0-60 times varying from 5.5-11 seconds. there isn't a solid number, and it has alot to do with launch, shifts, and driver skill/weight.

I weigh 230 lbs and had half a car length lead on a late model gt mustang off the line. it was during 3rd that he finally got a jump and blew past me(closed track)

mind you my bike is pretty much naked except for the front cowl and the matte black panels right under the gas tank and set. no fender. bike was broken in properly with full synthetic oil and filter changed at 100, 500 1000 3000, 5000, and at the beginning of this season at around 7000. valves clearances and carb sync on manufacturers recommended intervals

the bike is quick. to this day i don't understand why people bash the ninjette. i go on spirited rides with 600, 675s, 750 ss bikes and can match or beat them in the corners. the only thing it won't do is blow down a straight over 200kmh. i've dragged both foot pegs on the bike in turns at high speeds.

I once beat a 500 Interceptor, light to light, while riding a Honda 250 Elite scooter. The guy couldn't shift for crap.

As for the guy with the tire iron, cameras serve more than one function.

Incorrect sir. It'll land you an "unsafe lane change".

I've been wrong about this too, in the past. A mid intersection lane change actually isn't explicitly illegal, nor is it automatically an unsafe lane change. You could be charged with such, but it would actually have to have been a lane change that was performed not in safety, in order to obtain a conviction, not just be a lane change that occurred mid intersection.

Oh really? I haven't been changing lanes mid intersection because I thought it was illegal. This changes my view on things.

If a cop having a bad day sees you I'd bet on the ticket.

I remember a thread about it within the last year. It was very enlightening. Just like driving in bare feet. It's been told so long that it's illegal that people just believe it to be true.

Dude, a cop will give you **** if he's doing 40 in a 60 zone and you pass him, at least from stories on here.

Depends on the cop. I have several friends that are in halton, peel and the opp and not one of them like to be bothered with useless traffic tickets unless you're doing something really dumb. That said I've seen and known a few people to get the ticket for changing lanes in an intersection. I'd guess it wouldn't be hard to beat in court and all but I don't do it just to avoid the hassle.

Thanks for the clarification. This is why I thought it was illegal:

I was rear ended in Etobicoke once (while driving my car). Traffic had come to a stop in front of me and I ended up stopping in the middle of the intersection. When the light turned red, I changed lanes and cleared the intersection. Then I hear screaching tires behind me and I get rear ended. The guy that hit me had to run the red light in order to hit me. I got charged with an unsafe lane change - the cop told me it was because I had changed lanes in an intersection. The other driver didn't get charged with anything.

I thought it was illegal because it would seem pretty dangerous to have your turn signal on while going straight through an intersection.

I wonder where the fault would land if you were changing from the left lane to the right through the intersection and the opposing vehicle thinks your turning right and starts to make a left right in front of you.......

^^^This right here.

Turning left across a live lane will always put you at fault in the case of a collision.

The fault would be with the guy who was making an unsafe turn, because he didn't wait until the way was clear. If hit from the side/behind while making a mid intersection lane change then the fault would be with the driver making the move, as the other driver was acting appropriately in the situation, but the person making the lane change was not.

Rob; in your 2nd scenario are you talking about someone turning and getting hit or someone proceeding straight and getting hit?
