if you are starting get wristguards and a helmet, imo.

If you're just starting , don't waste your money on a Burton anything expensive. Heck, my first board i bought used form a ski hill for $50 (boots and bindings included) the tip had been glued back on but 2 years later I bought a newer board. I spent $100 on my second board and only sold that one because I got bigger and taller. My latest board cost $150, it's a Morrow, and even competing against 100+ other girls on Burtons and expensive boards, I came 6th in a slalom race. So if people keep saying you need a good pro model expensive name brand board to ride well, that's bull. Save your money until you learn how to ride properly then get something that you really like that works for your style.

try that to get an idea of the length of board you may need.
Typed my details in, it showed 167cm which is what I ride........seems accurate

A helmet is a must! Too easy to hit your head. I seem more people on the hills now with helmets then those without one.
It depends on your weight/build..... go to Sportchek and check out the boards themselves. That same site said I needed a 156/157 but those were too short. 159/160 is slightly above my chin.
