deny, defend,depose

Last I heard they had a 'person of interest' in custody but not arrested - caught in a McDonald's in Pennsylvania. That's been upgraded ?
It sounds like in custody but not arrested although "“He is believed to be our person of interest" so I suspect the arrest is a formality that is coming shortly. See how much you can get him to talk before formally charging him.

EDIT:
"He was being held in Pennsylvania on gun charges and eventually will be extradited to New York to face charges in connection with Thompson’s death"

Sounds like he isn't the sharpest crayon in the box. Wouldn't you take the trouble to ditch all the incriminating evidence in the East River before blowing town ?

I don't think he was trying to get away. It will be an interesting movie in a few years. High school valedictorian takes out capitalist pig, taunts police with monopoly money and gets arrested easting breakfast.

Well the amount of profit these insurance companies make and the amount of bankruptcies by Americans to pay for medical id something to question

Arrested on gun charges...for now.

The guy was a member of a prominent family, you can bet as soon as they saw his unmasked face, family, friends and associates knew exactly who he was, and no doubt one of them ratted him out.

Cops knew who he was and his name before they arrested him, they just had to find him.

From BBC.....

"Finding Mangione appears to be a complete surprise. Police say they did not have his name prior to today."

Honestly, I can't believe someone ID'ed him in the wild from the high angle photos they had.

...and that he was apparently carrying a backpack that contains pretty much everything they need to convict him

High school valedictorian at a prestigious private school and ivy league graduate. Nephew of a state lawmaker. His family has enough money that he should have the best lawyers. Hopefully the movie's not over yet. Trial could be very interesting as he will likely have a lot of supporters.
